Spurverbreiterung

Audi A3 8V

Hi,

Hi Motor-Talkers,

I am from The Netherlands, hope you can help me in the English language (I can read German, but writing isn't my best...)

I have an A3 ->Sportback, facelift, 2017.
I want to lower it this month, using Eibach Pro springs/kit.
After lowering, I want to place spacers on the front- and rear wheels.
I have the original 18" S-line wheels (8V0601025AM), 18", 7.5J ET51.

I understood that 10mm spacers (10mm on both sides) on the front, would look best.
Am I correct?

And what about the rear? I read about 15mm (on both sides), but also about 20mm (on both sides) would look good/flush. What would you guys advice, looking at my stock 7.5J ET51 wheels?

Hope to hear from you, so I can order the correct spacers.

I would say it’s depending on the lowering Height. How much does it lower you car ? If it’s not that much low, 15mm on each sides will work( maybe). 10mm will work for sure. But I think 20mm could be to much.
I’ll get my car lower as well next month. Currently I‘ve mounted 10mm spacers on each sides at the rear on a 8x19 ET 45 Wheel.

Just wait and order the spacers after your car is lowered. Because you have to now how much space is still there.

My A3 E-tron will be lowered about 35mm front and 30mm rear, with the Eibach Pro kit.
This is about the same as stock S-Line (non E-tron) A3's. Maybe 5mm lower..

So not really 'low'.
Would 10mm front and 15mm back for my Sportback be the best, 'flush' looking option with the 7.5j et51 wheels?

Okay. Yes i think this will look good. Look at the pics, you can see there 10mm at front and 15mm at the rear. 7,5x18 ET 51 Original S-line wheels with stock non s-line suspension (-15mm lower).

@Sezi95: Thank you for your answer and the posted photo's.
10mm on the front and 15mm on the rear indeed looks very good.

Looking at it from behind (photo 3) I would say that it could use another extra 3~5 mm's, but maybe you could get to much 'splashing dirt' from the wheels against the side panels, if the wheels sticks out further.

Yes your right. 3-5mm more at the rear could be fine. But you have to consider the lowering. Your car is getting 15mm lower then my car on the pics. So it would look a Little Bit different. It’s not really easy to find the right option.

I think the fitment would look better when the car is lower. Now is to much space between the wheel and fender.

Here again with 10mm front and 15mm rear.jpg

@Sezi95: Thanks. You are right about the extra 15mm lowering. The 'stance' and spacing would look different.

Any examples/forummembers, reading this topic, can show me a Sportback, S-Line (or Eibach) lowered with 20mm spacers?
