Volkswagen Gol (NICHT Golf!)

Ich hab da zufällig was interessantes gefunden bei CarDomain.com:

Einen VW GOL! Ja richtig, nicht Golf sondern nur Gol! Zu finden hier!

Scheint mir ne Mischung aus Golf und Polo zu sein.

In den USA gibts den nicht, in Europa auch nicht, anscheinend nur in Südamerika.

Ich hab mal auf der Hompage von Volswagen Equador nachgesehen, und siehe da, hier ist er.

In Argentinien gibts den auch, und Peru und Chile. Also überall da unten. Es gibt sogar einen Volkswagen Gol Club in Argentinien.

Was haltet ihr von dem Wagen? Den Gol gibts übrigens schon seit den 70ern, kam damals zeitgleich mit den ersten Polos und so raus.

Übrigens ist der Gol nicht die Südamerikanische Variante des Polos, denn den Polo haben die da auch!

Ja, den Gol kenne ich. Ist tatsächlich für Südamerika erschaffen worden, könnte aber in nächster Zeit auch in China produziert werden. VW weiss eben, wie man weltweit Billigmärkte erobert.

Das Ziel des Gol ist es, mit VW-Qualität ein Auto so auf die Beine zu stellen, wie es ein Billigmarkt will - robust und ausstattungsarm. Der Gol hat so ziemlich nichts, was wir aus europäischen Autos kennen, aber das will dort ja auch keiner. Ich habe mal gehört, ein neuer Gol kostet in Südamerika etwa 4.000 EUR. Das Auto ist dort der totale Renner. So ein neues Exemplar wie das auf Deinem Foto ist aber sicherlich teurer. Nur eben WEIT unter dem Luxus-Polo, den man uns hierzulande andrehen will.

Wenn man an Teile, z.B. die Front oder gleich an so einen kompletten Gol kommen würde, wär man der Renner auf jedem VW-Treffen! Ich meine, vieviele Gol's fahren in Deutschland rum? Wenn's hoch kommt zwei.

Weil die Front von dem neuen ist ja wirklich nicht hässlich. Man sieht die VW-Typischen Züge, erinnert an eine Mischung aus Polo und Passat.

Käm doch geil an einem 6N....

der gol sieht für mich aus wie der a3 von der form her. nur halt etwas billiger....

aber für 4000 euro für ich mir son ding kaufen...die meisten sachen lassen sich ja nachrüsten wenn man sowas braucht.

Auf der peruanischen Volkswagenseite gefällt mir vor allem der Begriff "Carros dos Membros" hihi

In GB gibt's einen Corsa Stufenheck, und in Afrika gibt's auch einen Renault Clio Stufenheck, der in Europa nicht angeboten wird. In einem Kino in Frankreich sah ich damals einen Film aus Afrika, und dort tauchte so ein Auto auf. Die Franzosen sagten dann "Oops, c'est quoi comme voiture, ca!?" "C'est une Clio" "Oh là là, c'est pas mal, ca! Il faut vendre ca en Europe!" und so weiter...

So, Volkswagen Gol is based on first generation of Passat. Audi DNA.

The engine 1.6, 1.8 e 2.0 are the same used in Europe, but with little mods and Magneti Marelli management.

The 2 liter engine isn't the long rod actual version and don't have cross flow head. So, after 4.500 the engine seems a little noisy and harsh. But offers more low end torque than Passat 35i and Golf III version imported by Volkswagen of Brazil.

I have one 1.6 liter, with 268º cam and big valves, no cat, low restriction air filter, in the second generation model of Gol. 0 to 100 km/h in the dash in 9.0 (with new cltuch in crhono), 9.3 seconds.

I have one 1liter second generation model, engine is the same as found in lupo, but here with 57cv.

And a Santana 2 liter too.

The turbo version is an excelent engine with 16v VVT, Bosch Motronic 3.8.3 and a little turbo, to pump even in low rpm, and a lot of features. with no doubt, is the most advanced engine produced here until today, this engine makes Gol more fun and fast than a 2liter version. has an amazing performance with that real short gear ratios. One cheap car with a GTi spirit.

The most powerful Gol ever, was GTi 16v, is produced on the second generation. With 2l 16v engine with audi 80 transmission to be mounted longitudinally. 142cv. The wagon model receives a GTI 16v engine, but just few was produced, hard to find, but more beautifull the gol. This GTi model was exclusive equipped with Pirelli P700z tires, Recaros, lower suspensions, sway bar in rear suspension and all that GTi stuff.

This color of this model show in the pics is exclusived borrowed from audi, and the one wich offer leather interior with two tone colour (Colour Concept package). Too agressive to my taste, but is nice. The hood has a bubble, too acomodate the engine.

Gol is the entry model of VW do Brazil. So i'll show the hottest versions.

In 1994 VW launches the second generation of Gol, in 1995 GTi 2.0 8v, and 2 liter in 1996. After some time, the GTi 8v changes the name to TSi 2.0. The was a Parati GTi 16v too (Gol Wagon).

In 1999 there was another facelift, and the GTi 16v survives in Gol and Parati, but now look too discret, like a normal Sportline version. After 2 or 3 years the GTi production was finish.

In 2000 VW launches the 16v Turbo engine with 82kw 5.500rpm and 155nm 2.000 to 4.000rpm. And now this model stop the production too.

The result, in our market we dont have more a cheap sport car. The only offer of VW now resumes on Golf IV GTi 1.8T 180cv.

 

And now look at a Gol tuned by Hellbrügge in Brazil, with Quattro transmission borrowed from audi 80 S2. With 2 liter turbo engine that produces 500cv when this pictures was taken. The car is awesome. The owner now intend put a VR6 engine longitudinally mounted like that Passat 32b VR6 turbo syncro from RSTuning. The car is waiting for the engine in a famous speedshop in Brazil

Gol GT4 (look at the beast) - Quattro. And 2.0 8v liter turbo with 500cv. Now the car is in tuning shop, to put a VR6 engine longitudinally installed like RS Tuning Passat 32b VR6 turbo.

1980 to 1993 - BX Platform(Gol, Parati, Saveiro, Fox and Fox wagon)

Gol BX was produced untill 1994, Parati BX 1995 and the last one Saveiro BX in 1997.

And look, 1980 to 1982 this model is equipped with aircooled 1.300 and 1600 boxer engines from the VW Beetle. I have a friend (Herr Phillip) who pretend put Porsche boxer 6 cylinder in aircooled Gol engine bay.

1994 to nowadays - AB9 Platform (Gol, Parati e Saveiro)

The AB9 plaform is an upgraded platform, but with new overall dimensions

Now we have another car named Fox in Brazil, but with PQ 24 platform from Polo/Fabia/Ibiza.

Gol, the most sucessful car in Brazil, beat sell record from the beetle here, when reached the 3 millon mark. In Mexico, Gol with the name Pointer, and selling well too. Today Gol reached the 4 million mark.

Safety features like 2 front airbags and abs just in option.

Now is just a third world simple car, with glorious past in Brasil.

1989 to 1992 this car fight real hard with Kadett GSi, in the track gol gti kick Kadett GSi ass. Kadett just has a better final speed.

Imagine a car with 120cv doing 40 to 100 km/h in 5th gear in 15.50s. Excelent to drive daily, and get hard when you want.

To make engine mods is easy and cheap. Here the people put turbochargers. It very rare find a good one strong natural aspirated cars in the streets.

Sometimes you hear the sound of tires screaming on the second gear and even in third in some cases. There some nuts here, like a friend with Gol GTS bored to 1.9 and turbo pumping 2bar of food in Pierburg (brosol 3E) carburetor...Awesome, but only in straight line...

Just an information, VW Gol and Santana engines uses engine management from other brands in past too, like FIC, Bosch (both are analogic), there was FIC TBI digital too, but now uses only multipoint Magneti Marelli (digital).

Nice site you have, the Gol is a very nice car indeed. I know a (maybe mad) man in Frankfurt (Germany) who imported a 1994 Gol 1.8 some years ago from Brazil. I saw the car last year and I can really understand why the Gol is the most successful car in Brazil. It is just what I like on a car: cheap to run, ultra reliable and tough enough to run a million kilometres on the first engine
