Next-Gen Sensus mit Android Google Maps und Play Store: Android Automotive

Das Thema hatten wir schon in einigen Threads gestriffen, aber nun wird es wieder akut

Google and Volvo announced last year that they were teaming up to build Android into future cars. Such a set up will allow drivers to use their infotainment system independently of their smartphones since the system itself will operate on Android. Volvo says that the first Android-based system will launch in a couple of years.

Dazu ein paar Sachen, die mir auffegallen sind:

• - Keine Angabe, ab wann (Modelljahr 2020?) und für wen (nachrüstbar?, mMn eher nicht)
• - Kein kompletter Zugriffauf den Play Store, sondern nur auf angepasste Apps aus dem Play Store

Im Text wird sich aber auf "first fully electric car" und konkret auf Android Automotive bezogen. Ich denke, das sollte klarstellen, dass es nur um den P8 und die neue Plattform geht.

... der Tester hat vermutlich noch kein Alt-Sensus vorher genutzt. Dagegen ist es aus meiner Sicht Gold.

Ich habe mit dem bisherigen Sensus keine Probleme, aber bei meinen Probefahrten im XC40 P8 und Polestar 2 sind das von der Bedienung schon deutliche Schritte nach vorn. Aber genau wie 2016 dem damals Neu-Sensus, jetzt Alt-Sensus, gebe ich auch dem Android-System Karenz bzgl. Bugs und Unvollkommenheit am Anfang.

So, nun ist es offiziell: Android Automotive ist bereits bestätigt mit MJ22 für

• XC60 im Facelift
• S90
• V90
• XC40 P8
• C40 Recharge

Unbestätigt sind:

• S60
• V60
• XC90

Für S/V60 könnte es bis zum Facelift kommendes Jahr dauern.

Für den XC90 wird gerade mal ein Jahr vor dem Ende des Produktzyklus (Der XC90 III ist kommendes Jahr fällig) schätzungsweise nichts mehr kommen.

Weil immer wieder Fragen kommen: Es wird NICHT möglich sein in Fahrzeugen mit dem alten Sensus auf das neue Sensus mit Android Automotive upzugraden - weder per Software- noch per Hardwareupdate.

Laut dem Link für den XC60 gibt es auch endlich einen Smarten anhalte Assistent. Und OTA Updates auch noch. Für mich persönlich bewegt sich das alles in eine gute Richtung.

Wundert mich, dass man dem CX40 nicht auch das neue Android verpasst wo doch der P8 das bereits am Lager hat und vom selben Band läuft.

Der heißt C40 und kriegt selbstverständlich das neue Android-basierende System. Genauso wie OTA-Updates und exklusiven online Verkauf.

Dann bekomme ich vermutlich einen der letzten des vFL, da sich dass MOdeljahr soweit ich das hier verstanden habe Anfang Mai ändert und meiner wohl Ende April gebaut werden wird. Zumindest hat man mir das so mal mitgeteilt, da ich ihn Ende Mai erhalten soll.

Hat immerhin den Vorteil, dass ich auch das erhalte was bestellt wurde.

Da sind beim neuen Ateca einige dann doch etwas enttäuscht worden, da dass FL doch einige Änderung am Design insbesondere der Felgen enthielt, was sie so nun ankzeptieren müssen.

Volvo hat zum wiederholten Male auf Nutzerfragen hin bestätigt, dass es kein Upgrade vom alten auf das neue Sensus in bestehenden Fahrzeugen geben wird:
