Nein, nochmal...

Glückliche Audi A6 Besitzer. Wer nicht grade ein Neufahrzeug in der letzten Woche bekommen hat, sollte sich bei seiner Werkstatt anmelden und das 2120 Software Update verlangen.

Endlich die Dinge, die seit über einem Jahr hätten sein sollen.

Dauert knapp unter 2 Stunden und löst viele kleine Freuden aus.

Ich habe bestimmt noch nicht alles gefunden, aber hier ein paar Dinge.

- Bose Surround vergisst die Surround Einstellung nicht mehr.
- Die Navi Durchsagen können abgeschaltet werden wenn man am Telefon ist.
- Höheninfo kann eingeblendet werden in der Navikarte.
- Bluetooth Vorbereitung, der absolute HAMMER. Ich hab hier ein nagelneues O2 Xda mini S Smartphone, mit Windows Mobile 5. Alle Telefoneinträge, ob im SIM oder im Speicher werden angezeigt. Ich meine wirklich alle. Aus dem SIM mit einem SIM Icon, aus dem Speicher auch alle Nummern unter einem Kontakt. Geht auch mit einem Motorola Klapphandy und auch mit einem Nokia. Hier hat Audi endlich was getan.

Also nicht mehr lesen hier, Telefon packen und Termin in der Werkstatt machen.

Wäre mal ein Zeitpunkt das Audi WiFi mit als Sonderausstattung anbietet... 😉

Das der Audi Aussendienst Rumtreiber beschäftigt, die Idee finde ich interessant 😁. Glaube aber nicht das die Meinung geteilt wird.

😁 bin selbst aus der IT Welt, habe aber keine 2120er CD und trotzdem gibt's hier im Forum den einen oder anderen der die Software bereits drauf hat ohne dass er dazu ein neues Auto gekauft hat, es muss also irgendwo einen Weg geben. Alle anderen bekommen ja die Standard-Info "In 2 Wochen..."

Allerdings frage ich zum Beispiel bei den bei Ebay angebotenen Navi DVDs die leider nicht eingeschweisst sind ob das nicht gut gemachte Kopien sind...

Das mit den Rumtreiber war ja auch eher ironisch gemeint 😁

English speaking people please respond on MMI update

I have been following this thread (via google translate) for MMI update.

Can anybody provide a link or a copy of the update for 2120? I have 1140 in my car (Dubai, UAE) and dealer is useless (doesnot understand a word I say)

This is the best equivalent forum I have found which is frequented by technically adept people (I frequent Audiworld.com too but there the americans are more worried in showing off their cars)

This forum is the best equivalent of bimmer.org or x5world.com (I have BMW too). Hopefully people in this forum will be as helpful as in bimmer forums.

first of all: welcome to the forum. It has also provided me with information to fix a few problems on my car. Further it is nice to have the coleagues around and to get the nescessary information to "confront" the dealer - or as we name them here the "Freundlichen" or by the symbol 🙂

As far as I know, there is no link where you could download the software. At this point I would also not recommend to install it, since it has not been officially released by Audi. Therefore I would suggest that you wait for another few weeks until the version has been officially released. I am also waiting for it patiently.

Thank you for the reply. Another German friend of mine has told me that index 1200 onwards has visual parking display (Just like the A8).

Since 1200 is official, can I update it to 1200 (or above).

Mostly I need it because my bluetooth doesnot work with Windows Mobile (HTC Universal - a beautiful device).

I wish I could read German - there is too much info on this board. My google translator sometimes is banned (I live in censored country - UAE).

BTW - we in middle east do get almost the same models as you get in Germany. I remember 30% of Porche Cayennes are in the middle east (poche = approximately AUDI)- but sad to see that almost all owners of Audi/Porche here are not technically inclined.

Hi nitin,

The visual parking system is not done via the MMI update.

MMI 1200 will not support your Windows Mobile via bluetooth. Maybe only the connection but nothing else.

If you have Windows Mobile 5 on your HTC than MMI 2120 will very likely be what you need. On my device all functions are supported.

I would advise that you "pester" your dealer for the MMI 1200 so that he may get used to the update process including ordering the CD necessary for that. By the time you have MMI 1200 the dealer can go and get the MMI 2120 😉.

Hey Nitin, this other German friend told you that you need index 1200 PLUS the respective 8-channel controller box J446 (4F0 910 283 C) in the trunk to upgrade for visual parking system - lol - 😁

@nitin: as duck said, the update only will not provide you with the ASP+ ( Audi Parkins System ).

I have upgraded my 4F [Okt.2005] to ASP+ successfully. The needed to replace a component ( Steuergerät ) and upgraded to version 1200. Further I purchased the 2006 DVD.

Going through the thread you mentioned right now. (Google translates only half page).

The thread mentiones -
1) Parking sensors <-- I have front and back
2) MMI 1200+ (I have 1140 - aargh)
3) Navi DVD - I have 2005 Middle east version.

Also, I have color MID (FIS in german - the screen between the tacho and speedo)

I bought the car in July 2005, MY 2006. I will check what date it was manuf. I think 04/2005 Nekruslam. Photos soon (going out - will take some photos and post)

Since I have front and back sensors - I must be having this 8 channel block. I seriously feel that if I upgrade my SW, I will have visual display.

Also, my bluetooth should be working - If any of you have been to Dubai - you should know how bad driving style is here.

Depending on the VIN, to be more exactly on the build date of your car, you have to replace the control unit of the parking system because Audi changed the software.
The part numbers are identical, but the software isn't. 🙁

Maybe you need a new parking system control unit.

Finally, your dealer must set some codes in the control unit.

Otherwise it doesn't work even if you have a new MMI software and a new navigation DVD.

The visual parking system also works with an older DVD, but Audi says it is much better to use the new DVD... 🙄

DQ1 - Thanks for the reply - I will post VIN later (which numbers do I post to check - I cant post all the numbers)

I would LOVE to get visual APS but getting Bluetooth to work in my car is number 1 priority. There is a snag in Audi BT - It stops advertising Handsfree Service after some time. My windows mobile updates the service profiles dynamically (unlike all other Symbian or properietry phones - the phone remembers what services were available at the time of pairing)

Hopefully that is sorted out plus I may get directory from my phone (My X5 is able to download directory from phone after I upgraded to AKU2.0 - thats service pack for Windows Mobile)
