federndes Gefühl

Mercedes A-Klasse W177

Okay, sorry, but this is a difficult one to describe. The dealer has confirmed the problem, but has not been able to figure out how to resolve it yet. First, what the problem is NOT: Balancing, tires or rims. These are all okay. Second tires were tested and the problem still existed. (The car is a manual gear shift. Handschaltung.)

So now, the problem:

Between 80 and 140 km/h the car has a bouncy feel to it. Or it could be described as the tires have a "warped" feeling. If you drive 140 km/h and let go of the gas you should feel it clearly with vibration in your seat and the floor where your feet are.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, was the dealer able to find the actual problem?

My dealer is clear that the tires and the rims are not the problem, because he tested it with a second set of tires and rims.

You can answer me in German. I understand German and can speak it, but I cannot write it so good.

Thank you!
Bryan

Google translate:

Nun also das Problem:

Vielen Dank!
Bryan

Moin,

what configuration do you drive - engine / AMG Line?
Does your car perform a gear switch the moment that you can feel the "bouncing"?

My A200 has an issue with the automatic transmission where the gearchanging sometimes is very unsmooth, especially when switching from a higher to a lower gear. Could also be described as some kind of a "bouncy" feeling in the seat.
In my case the issue mostly occurs at slow speed when the gear changes from 3 -> 2 -> 1, but sometimes also at higher speeds as you described.
My MB dealer told my, that an update will address this problem mid this year.

Hope that helps...? :/

Thank you for answering! My car is a manual gear shift. Handschaltung. I wonder if the problems could be related, but I don't feel it when I am shifting gears, or I have not noticed it change. But I do feel it at lower speeds as well, just not as obvious.

All right, that I'm quite sure that you got a different problem, as mine is a well known issue with the automatic gear shift from Getrag that is build into the A200.

But I still think it would be helpful for other user if you'd let them know your configuration :-)

It's the:
