Streamers
After being sick the whole weekend and not coming to work yesterday I finally put my hands on the the task of removing the streamers. I must say it wasn't as easy as I thought but after removing and putting it back in correctly it was worthwhile. The creaking was gone but I still have a sort of knock I believe that is coming from the glove compartment area. I'd like to remove the glove compartment and check too see. I'd like to thank RicSneak for his help and if anyone has a diagram of the removal of the glove compartment I'd appreciate it if they can mail it to me
Best regards,

If anyone wants to trade dissassembly diagrams of the streamers for the glove compartment I'd be glad. I'd speak with RicSneak first but taking into consideratiion taht this is for the community in general I don't think he'd be against it. I'll continue waiting so if anyone knows how or has a diagram I'd appreciate it.

Nelson
Hi Nelson,
sure, that´s ok.I also was going to edit it here, but momentary I´m searching for better quality at minimal size.To your current plan(and others)i´ll get some documents soon.

Thankyou again,
My objectives are to try to fix some of these minor flaws, which my local dealer told me were supposed to be like that. My car did come with a misaligned door and the streamers section wasn't in place. The door was left worse by them and they cracked the object holder on the streamer console. They say the parts have been ordered and they will contact me whem they arrive. Door and streamer console??? I'm still waiting and Monday I'm giving them a call to find out why it's taking so long. Until then these things I'd rather do paciently on my own because it's as if they don't really care. My greatest appreciation to you Riccard and if you do have anything even if the quality isn't so good it doesn't matter because I only need it as a base to see how the parts are dissassembled without 'killed cats ore broken parts'.
Regards,
Nelson
You are not alone with these"minor flaws".Thousends of us are every Day annoyed or infuriated about noises and crooked/not exactly fitted parts in their cars.AND:i do not trust in dealers and professional garages, except for changing parts, that are covered by the warranty. For instance the catalytic converter or the sensor for mass-air-flow.The rest i do on my own.The reason why is:
Zitat:
because it's as if they don't really care.
They don´t really care, because they have not enough time to do the work conscientious or they are not qualified enough for some special jobs.
That´s my experience here in germany.

I know what you mean Riccard, I feel that way but I'd like to remedy these problems myself. Thanks for helping me and in any case if you have any more of those documents even low quality, size doesn't make a difference either to me, please send them to my e-mail.
Thanks and a nice weekend to everyone,
Nelson
Mission impossible at work😎.I´ve got them and the quality is not so bad. Please watch your Mailbox, the documents are on the way to you.Sorry about the size(each of that is about 700kb)but if i cut them, the quality will be lower. Now it´s your turn.

post scriptum:One of the reasons why i am self-employed is:i can say now it´s closing time and i can open my first chilled beer😉.
Can't be self employed at least not yet grrr... Enjoy your beer as for me in about an hour or so I'll be drinking one and later goin out to dinner with my wife. Gonna try to relax after a hard weeks work. Don't worry about the size I'll do the cutting. See you, regards,
Nelson
Hello to the forum and a special Hello to you Riccard,
I've been gradually doing some work on my VW and it seems to be getting quite quiet my car. I've been covering panels with a velvet type of adhesive and the part becomes immediately rattle free. I've also been tightening some screws here and there and I'm pretty happy now. I'd like to continue and I'd do all the panels if I get the instructions so Riccard if you have anything I'd most likely appreciate it.
Once again a big thank you to the forum and you Riccard,
Nelson
Hello Forum,
I've been trying to mail you RicSneak but I think that there has been some problems with this vius that's running loose. I'd really appreciate it if you have any more diagrams like for example the doors. I'm taking my car into VW tomorrow so they can fix a misalighned door and hopefully some rattles but I did start on my own and things are quieter. I'd like to do thew door panels now.
I hope I didn't say anything wrong by mistake, if so my sincere apology to anyone I may have offended.
Regards,
Nelson
Hello,
I left my car this morning at the VW dealer and I am praying that they do the job right. I'll continue surely do fix rattles and stuff but as long as the door gets fixed properly I'll be happy.
My regards to everyone,
Nelson
Hello Forum,
I'd like to thank everyone that has helped me in solving some of the minor flaws my car came with. I'd also like to say that, after putting my local dealer in his place after a very poor first intervention, I got my car back Friday afternoon and everything is fine. They fixed a misaligned door I think they fitted new hinges and the streamer part of the dashboard, the whole area radio surroundings, streamers etc was all fitted new. Even a noise here and there was removed.
A word of advice to anyone with a new car that is unsatisfied with something is stand your ground with the dealer don't let them push you around. If your not satisfied let them know.
Regards to all,
Nelson
Hi Nelson,
Sorry,I was busy the last days.I had to fix an electronical problem by a "small" diesel-engine(30 000hp- a sea-carrier).I´ve fixed it and solved it.Now i´m sick,tired,jet lag and hungry.I´ll need some hours,to know who i am,I´ll need a hot shower,some sleep.Till tomorrow.
