Hi guys. successfully done the facelift tail-lights retrofit with the swap of the central convenience unit and new coding verified by the online Audi connection. All the error have definetely gone. They were simply due to an incorrect coding of the controller 46.
Infact, as suggested also here on the previous posts, i had flagged:
Bit 7 (Interior LightFront Roof Module installed) on the Byte 11
this option is valid only for those who have the ROOF ELECTRONICS but not in a car without the Electric Sunroof as in my case.
Now the Front amd Rear interior Led are perfectly working w/o any error.

So it's not a problem of central convenience unit's version but only an incorrect coding.
Finally who doesn't have the Roof Electronics only have to:
1) replace the FRONT AND REAR lights modules
2)connect the LIN-BUS .
without any coding.
it's all.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If I remove the coding then if I open the door, the light will not come on. I have only changed the Interior LightFront Roof Module and the LIN came from the Stg 46.
What is meant by "Roof Electronics only "
I do not have the electric sunroof.

Ok so you don't need to active the Roof Electronics (Dachelektroni) module by the coding on byte11 of controller 46. The roof panel with interior Led works good without the coding because it don't need anything like a solid Lin-Bus connection. Anyway I did many test and I can confirm you that the interior Led don't need any code to work but unfortunately I have been confused by a faulty panel
I mean that my first attempt to done this retrofit was done with a faulty light panel that gives me always the errors with or without the coding. Now with a new panel installed everything works perfect.
Hello, I just tried it a few minutes ago again without the coding. Without coding the light will not wake up when I open the door. If I do the coding Byte11 Bit 7 than the light wake up when I open the door. So now Im a little bit confused about what you say.
Honestly my coding was the result of the online connection with Audi server .
Before that connection I never thought that the byte 11 had to be unchecked.
I remember I had similar behavior when I installed the LED roof module 4G0947135B at first.
After wiring LIN bus etc the light came on automatically when opening the door without coding!
But much later after a SW update in the garage it didn't work immediately but it took a few hours to work, after multiple start engine/stop engine/open doors/close doors.
So then I decided to do the coding: Bit 7 (Interior LightFront Roof Module installed) on the Byte 11.
But I am not sure if the error 01308 started after coding or already before.
This error is logged exactly 10 minutes after closing the car (standby timer) so it could be related to commands on the LIN bus trying to address something (Sunroof?) which is not present.
I can try to remove the coding and check if the error still occurs.
I will let you guys know.

Just tried it and without coding (bit7 of byte11 = 0) the LED roof module is working and no error is logged anymore.

Obviously you now see only 3 Subsystems listed instead of 4 as the Roof Module is missing...
I will keep monitoring for unexpected behavior but for now it looks good and error-free.
Finally someone that confirm...obviously that coding is specific to the electronic sunroof ... if there is not the roof control unit why codify it?
in VCDS Byte11 Bit7 is called "Interior Light/Front Roof Module" so it is not called something like sunroof, so thats why if I will install the front Roof module because I would like to have the led interior light, I assume that I also have to do the coding (in my case the front light is only working with this coding while opening the doors even if I have wired correctly the LIN)
But sometimes I have the error message:
01308 - Control Module for Roof Electronics (J528)
004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent
I notice the error when I go into the car and no light comes - also in FIS a information about low battery is shown and the MMi monitor will not open. But I can not reproduce this error. He comes sporadically, I have until now not identified a pattern.
I just wonder for which purpose must at all the LIN wire be taken if I change the roof module without having sunroof, Alarm System and all the stuff? The lights at the standard module also working without any LIN connection.
Can anyone tell me the context?
The LED roof module does require LIN bus to control roof lights on when door open. Otherwise no way it will work. There is a LIN bus microcontroller in that unit.
The standard bulb light roof modules do not require LIN bus as those are controlled by a more simple wire (+12V or oV) which controls the roof lights when door open.
