Kupplungspedal uebertraegt Motorschwingungen

Audi A3 8P

Hallo,

I

Hello everybody,it is nice to be here!

Please excuse about the english language but i do not speak german.I will translate my text below using Google translation.

I am here because i have the same vibration problem with my car which is an Audi A3 Sportback 1.4 Tfsi 125PS manual transmission, model of 08/2009.

It all started after about the first 2000km.I started feeling the vibration through my clutch pedal especially when shifting gears. The vibration is dependent to the engine's rounds(RPM).The vibration is felt at certain points of the pedal. It is also very noticeable when you rest your foot on the pedal for about 1-2cm and you accelerate at the same time.

The vibration becomes worse after the car is warmed.

I went to the dealer several times but the answer was always:"they all do like that".But after a lot of pressure,in June 2010 they finally accepted that it was a problem and replaced the hole clutch kit(clutch disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing etc.).After that the situation got quite better, but 500km later the vibration returned as it was before, plus now i could feel through the pedal the throw out bearing spinning!

The second time my car got in the Audi work shop they changed only the throw out bearing but the result was nothing!

I finally went to Audi dealership of another city, told them all the history of the situation and they decide to put my car in again for the third time in two months!

When they got the clutch out they discovered that some fingers of the pressure plate were bent and decided to replace the hole clutch kit again.Unfortunately the result was like deja-vu...The pedal vibration got better for the first hundrends of kilometers but now it is back again and it is being felt in every gear shift i do.

I am very dissapointed about this situation. My car has been untied three times but yet with no result! That is why i am posting here.Because i realise now that i am not the only one having this problem.I see that it is a general problem of all 1.4 TSI engines and vw is aware of this problem.

Thank you for your time, any update or solution would be much appreciated.

My enttäuscht worden ungebundene dreimal aber doch ohne Ergebnis! Deshalb bin ich Entsendung here.

Hi Cris,

on the last 4 years, we discovered different vibrations about the clutch pedal. The vibrations you described is not really a clutch problem. It's more a problem with the crankshaft. The crankshaft have a minival side shake (axial shake). This should be minimized with the dual mass flywheel which is in front of the clutch disk. But, not all vibs from the crankshaft could be minimized. And the rest of vibs is that what you feel in your pedal. The fact, that the clutch and die dual mass flywheel have an naturally levelling to 10000-20000km the possibility to have no vibs is high. But, it depends of your own manner of driving. Some poeple have vibs from the beginning and others from 1500km or 14000km. Audi have found a little solution for this pulsed vibs. It's named in german "Frequenzgleichrichter". This is a flexible tube and it's used to commutate frequent pulses from the crankshaft. This frequent commutator will build in instead of the standard hydro tube between masterzylinder (pedal side) and slavezylinder (clutch side).

When you have no problems with shaking when you accelerate the car then it could be a solution for you if it is a pulsed vibration.

An other Situation is there when there are vibs available when you accelerate and press the clutch pedal deep down. Then please describe these problem in detail here.

I hope i could help you so far

Greetings

Mic

Thank you for your reply mic!

I will now try to describe exactly the vibration to you so you can understand the situation more clearly.

1.There is only vibration and NOT noise in the clutch pedal.

2.The vibration is absolutelly dependant to the engine's rounds(RPM).

3.The vibration starts being felt from about 1200 RPM .The vibration is NOT felt in idle.Only when accelerating.

4.The vibration is felt especially when gearshifting, upshifting or downshifting.

5.The vibration gets worse after the car is warm. When the weather is cold or at the first miles the vibration is still there but it is not very noticeable.

6.The vibration begings from the pressure point of the pedal and it is felt in most of the pedal's travel points. It is NOT felt when the pedal is fully pressed down to the floor.

7.When the car is moving: the vibration is felt when i apply light pressure to the pedal and it reaches the pressure point and at the same time i accelerate. If i do not accelerate,i do not feel any vibrations even if the pedal is at the pressure point and even if the engine at that time works at high rounds for example 3000RPM.

8.When the car is NOT moving with the engine running and gear is neutral:when i press the clutch pedal and at the same i accelerate i do not feel the engine's vibration at the pedal's pressure point but only after the pressure point and then at most of the pedal's travel points.

In idle,no vibration is felt when pressing the pedal down but there is a slight scratching sensation when the pedal is slowly turning back.

9.The tension of the vibration is almost the same no matter what gear is engaged.

Hallo zusammen,

Dirk

LUK UPDATE AFTERMARKET SOLUTION MIT KRIBBELFILTER FUR 1.9TDI MOTOR!

http://www.schaeffler.com/.../si_luk_0024_de_de.pdf

Hallo zusammen,

mittlerweile wurden bei meinem A3 folgende Reparaturen durchgeführt:

1) Austausch des Ausrücklagers -> leichte Verbesserung

2) Wechsel des Frequenzmodulators (Kribbelfilter) -> keine Verbesserung

3) kompletter Austausch der Kupplung (ZMS, Druckplatte, usw.) -> leichte Verbesserung
