Wer wartet auf 350e?
Hallo, ich warte schon seit 3 Monaten auf dem 350e. Gibt es noch andere oder bin ich der einzige? 😉

Verstehe nicht so recht, warum ihr an Protectar so herumnörgelt. Bisher fand ich seine sachlichen Kommentare eigentlich ziemlich fundiert, auch ohne Quellenangabe.

I've ordered a GLC 350e, and i have to wait for more than 7 months :-(
I have chosen a standard exterior and interior, Obsedian Black and Beige Leather and black matt wood.
The dealer told me that with the 350e engine, two visible tailpipes are fitted, instead of the invisible ones that are included with the standard exterior.
But I really doubt his words, because I haven't seen any 'standard' GLC (with iridium matt exterior trimmings) with visible tailpipes. Only with AMG, offroad or exclusive exterior, I have seen the two flat embedded pipes.
Can anyone help me out please?

No exterior Package like off-road, exclusive Prozent AMG-Line? So, there are no Piper visible.

In the German version of the online configurator it looks without any exterieur package like this: No pipes visbile

holgor, in Belgium also (on the configurator) but the dealer told me the configurator contains errors and especially the pictures can be wrong if you start configuring many different options.
but i'm affraid you're right, and without visible tailpipes, the car looks a lot "friendlier" instead of the sporty a bit aggressive bottom with the tailpipes

Mmh, maybe the configurator pictures are wrong, but I can hardly believe that Mercedes will change the exhaust style just because of the hybrid model. Technically the exhaust should be identical to the GLC250 model.
As far as I know the differences are:
- the 2cm higher suspension
- the charger plugin (of course)
- the smaller trunk due to the batteries
- the included "remote online" package which allows to pre-heat and pre-cool via the mobile app
- optional blue colored brakes
The visibility of the tail pipes does not depend on the motor but only on one of these packages: Chrom Package, Exclusive Exterieur or AMG Line Exterieuer. Without any of these options you will not see the tail pipes.
Why does the 350e only have the 7-speed gearbox instead of the new 9-speed?
I´m not sure, but why not? I could imagine there is no need for nine speeds due to the electric boost. The electric engine has so much torque at any revs, it boosts the car in almost every situation very well. It´s the second fastest GLC behind the 43 AMG in acceleration.
Imagine pure electric cars often do have only 1 gear.
Der E-Motor beim 350e ist ja im Getriebe selber verbaut, soviel ich weiss. Ich nehme an, dass man die Entwicklung des Hybrid-GLC und C zu einem Zeitpunkt gestartet hat, als das 9-Gang-Getriebe ebenfalls noch in Entwicklung war. Ev. wollte man beim Hybrid-Antrieb auf ein bewährtes Getriebe setzen.
Und zudem stimme ich dem, was holgor2000 schrieb, vollumfänglich zu. Ob zudem 9 Gänge gegenüber 7 wirklich eine Verbesserung darstellen, sei mal dahingestellt. Zu viele Gänge kann in gewissen Situationen eine Automatik auch überfordern.
Als ich den GLC 350e zur Probe hatte, spürte ich jedenfalls auch im reinen Benziner-Betrieb keinerlei Schaltvorgänge.
Das Getriebe beim 350e hat keinen Drehmomentwandler sondern eine nasse Anfahrkupplung (mechanisch). Der E-Motor übernimmt die Funktion des Wandlers beim anfahren. Die Entwicklung lief parallel mit dem 9-G-Wandlergetriebe.
In der neuen Motor/Getriebegeneration wird dann ein 9-Gang-Getriebe verbaut sein.

9-Gänge sind nicht zuviel und das 9-Gang ist dem 7-Gang in allen Belangen überlegen, in der Schaltgeschwindigkeit, im Wirkungsgrad, Im Schaltkomfort, in der Übersetzungsspreizung und im spezifischen Verbrauch.
Und ganz nebenbei wiegt es auch noch weniger.
I know the electricity provides enough torque and power at every gear, but i can imagine that while driving with more gears the car can select the optimal gear to be fuel efficient. This is afterall the purpose of this phev. Of course we didn't get all one to save the polar bears from drowning, In belgium, its the best fiscal choise due to the 59gr Co emission.
But nevertheless, after a half a day test drive, i was very impressed. Superb engine andexcellent building quality of the car (and sexy looks).

E-Kennzeichen nur noch in diesem Jahr.
Vielleicht ist nicht allen bekannt dass man in diesem Jahr für den GLC 350e den Zusatz "E" im Kennzeichen bekommen kann. Ich habe das bekommen und erst dadurch werde ich von vielen anderen Autofahren auf den Plug-in Hybrid angesprochen. Ab 2018 müssen Plug-in Hybride 40 km elektrisch fahren können um den Zusatz "E" zu bekommen.
Bis unerwähnt blieb auch, dass die Kfz Steuer für den GLC 350e nur 40 € im Jahr beträgt.
