Volvo on call App. Für Windows Phone 8 ?

Hallo,

Jetzt gibt es also Smartphones mit Windows Phone 8.
Ich spiele mit dem Gedanken nach 2 iPhones auf diese Variante zu wechseln. Die Gründe spielen jetzt mal keine Rolle.

Was mich davon abhalten könnte wäre die Nichtverfügbarkeit der VOC App für Phone 8.
Gibt es Planungen diese App. Auf WP8 zu Portieren?
Weiß schon jemand etwas darüber?

I have big problems with the new app on my HTC windows phone. Once it finishes with "Loading..."and shows the normal screen the application quits. Anybody else have the same problem?

Which HTC do you own?

I just installed it on my new HTC 8X and it works fine and it's very fast (faster than the last version for iOS).

The only issue I saw is that they did not adapt it to the new screen ratio 16:9 of the HTC 8X so there is some unused blue space at top.

I have even visited my Volvo dealer today in order to activate, and they claim that there probably is a bug in the app which will be corrected soon. I really don't know what to do, I have reinstalled the app several times, rebooted the telephone several times, deleted other apps... nothing seems to help. I have never experienced this abrupt termination with other apps.

Hallo an alle WP8-Fans!

Soeben habe ich hier gelesen dass es die VOC-App nun auch für Windows Phone 8 gibt 😛
Das ist ja fast wie Weihnachten 😁

Ende Januar wechs'le ich dann definitiv nicht auf das iPhone 5 sondern auf WP8. Wahrscheinlich wird es das Lumia 920 werden 😛

Wer hätte gedacht dass man sich freut wenn es Software nicht nur für andere sondern AUCH für Windows gibt.

Vor 5 Jahren wäre man für solch Gedankengut in die Klapsmühle gesteckt worden. 😁

Hi Leif,

having same issue with WP8 on Nokia 920 on EE in UK so you are not alone any more.

Volvo Sweden are investigating.

Hi all,

I have an update from Volvo on the WP8 issue I have been having using the On Call app with my MY13 S60.

Volvo are kindly still looking into it but it appears to be related to the car/account. They have access to the account on my car now for testing and have found

1. Connecting on call app to a different S60 in the test area from their test Nokia 920 works fine
2. Connecting on call app to my S60 using my account and their test Nokia 920 crashes each time

So I'm guessing it's either something to do with the particular account or the car.

Volvo haven't said any more so I'm guessing.

Prime suspect for me is the account as I opened my original account with an Android phone before switching to WP8 a couple of months or so later. Wonder if that affects it (have told them). App still works fine on my old Android phone...

Will share when I hear more. At least it's isolated to a few of us and not affecting everyone.

Hasn't affected the smile on my face from all that torque either, love that D5!

HI,

I had really good news from Volvo for the weekend that a new version of the app was to be released. It has been and I downloaded version 1.0.25.0 onto my Nokia 920 windows 8 phone and it appears to have fully fixed the issue.

Not only that but Volvo appear to be listening to the various forums as the map has been moved from the landing page and there are some other changes form the older Android version as well.

If you are having issues please check if you have 1.0.25.0 or newer version. Not sure how long it will take to proper-gate across the network. It was Sunday before it arrived in UK.

I have to say in my view this was outstanding service from Volvo, true customer service!
