Remote Software Update Juni 2022 (Android Auto, Apple Carplay)

Wer wartet alles sehnsüchtig auf das Update? Hoffe der Thread hat seine Daseinsberechtigung. Vielleicht kann man ja neue Infos diesbezüglich hier austauschen.

Auszug aus der Info vom Verkäufer:

Der Hersteller BMW hat uns mitgeteilt, dass folgende Funktionen nur vorläufig entfallen:

- Bluetooth Telefonie mit einem zweiten Telefon
- Bluetooth Audio Streaming mit einem zweiten Telefon
- Smartphone Integration (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto)
- WLAN-Hotspot

Alle temporär entfallenen Funktionen werden voraussichtlich ab Juni 2022 per Remote Software-Update zur Verfügung stehen.

Lächerlich. Bin mal gespannt, ob die CarPlay überhaupt noch hinbekommen, oder ob es einfach ausgesessen wird.

Kann nur von Glück reden nicht betroffen zu sein.

Ofcourse it will work eventually. But because the software wasn't ready when the chips were implemented, it takes some time.

Guten Morgen, ich habe auch noch 11/2021.60 in meinem F44 installiert und letzte Woche eine Aufforderung zum Update erhalten. Das hat aber wohl nicht funktioniert und die Update-Aufforderung ist auch verschwunden. Nun stellt sich mir die Frage ob ich nur über den Händler das Update beziehen kann oder es doch irgendwann im Mai im Control Display zum Download angeboten wird?

You have to go to the dealer for the initial update, that brings back the WiFi Hotspot. This is needed for RSU to properly work. After that, the activation of Apple Carplay/Android Auto will automatically be updated from May 19th.

No, my dealer hadn't got the latest ISTA version on the day I picked up my car. The car will be at the dealer tomorrow so hopefully they will have the update by then.

There's an updated recall PDF:

IMPORTANT:
Due to a BMW AG system delay, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will NOT be available until a backend system update is completed on 19 May 2022, therefore please be aware that the completion of this campaign and associated software update will not achieve FULL functionality until this date, at that point the backend update will take place and the systems will be available automatically, any customer taking delivery of a new vehicle or having this campaign completed before the 19 May 2022 should be made aware of these limitations

It is expected that the required software will also be published as a Remote Software Update (RSU) 22-03-551/552, this is currently expected to be released towards the end of May 2022. Please consider suggesting that the customer completes this Remote Software Update (when it has been released and is available) as this will prevent them having to visit the Retailer specifically to have this work completed.
All customers should have been previously advised on vehicle ordering / handover that reduced functionality would have been available until this software update was released, therefore many will be keen to install it ASAP.
BMW UK will also release an InCar notification to inform customers of this software update when the RSU is available to encourage the download and installation to provide these additional functional benefits that were previously missing.

Current update ( 10th May 2022 ):
- S18A-22-03-552 Brings back Vehicle WiFi, with support for apps. Included in ISTA 4.35.18. This will be rolled out as a Remote software upgrade at the end of May
- Carplay/AA will be rolled out via online provisioning starting 19th May.
