Ahoj Folks

Just browsed some threads and I couldn´t resist to comment on this one. As xc-fan (nette Grüßle) said: I used to have a Volvo S80 T6. Luckily, I got rid of before the engine could break down. I had - according to my bordcomputer - problems with both, exhaust and engine. That car really drove me off the wall! The fact that I had it repaired for $20.000 (within one year) [engine started lacking power, ignition didn´t work properly, power steering: fatal breakdown, AC got replaced, transmission as well, (got involved in an accident - new door 🙄), lambda sond "drowned" in some downpour of rain -> replaced, cooler caused a short-curcuit and croaked 😉 ] gave me an impetus to trade it in for a brand new BMW. Somehow I regret my decision because the S80 really is -in fact- a great car! It´s what you expect a 4-door saloon to be, comfy, fast, extraordinary, and not as narrow as a 3-series is. But it was a little too frail and apparently not willing to adopt my rather granny-like driving style ?! Maybe it refused me as a driver because I was not old enough 😉? Questions, questions but there´s not an answer! I wonder why I`m not fully content with my 3-series but after having had a Volvo S80 nearly no other car will meet your expectations. By and large, 3series is good, but I miss the "venerability" a lot - furthermore, it lacks character! Definetely! And the seats in Volvo, make you instantly feel at home!!!! 3-series always drops you a hint in what state the road (you´re traveling on) is: mostly in a terrible one (a lot of potholes on the continent´s steets. what about England, I´d like to learn more because carriage dualways/motorways in England are said to be the best ones on the planet - just another claim?) 😉 ).

I mean.. do you get my point? I just want to say: It´s worth keeping the S80. Because world hasn´t seen any greater saloon and you´d face despair every day

If it starts causing troubles, just sell it and get the next one. Sounds funny?? Yes.. but depreciation´s still cheaper than part-replacement!!! Believe me. Due to many first-hand-experiences, I`ve come across so far, S80`s either a mile-eater that will never see "the car doctor" or it´s a "self-pitying" pile of metal that needs to be towed every fortnight!

If someone asked me how he to treat oneself to a little luxury I`d answer: Get yourself a S80 😉

Yes, I`m sort of S80-addicted.. It´s an addictive car, but I simply could not afford this addiciton anymore because of a "lack of further money supply".

Well that´s all I wanted to say.. hrm.. and now.. bed
Dreaming of the ultimate sedan? Maybe the--- upcoming S80.

And: Security advice. In case of doubt, go for the more expensive preowned, but low-mileage S80´s. That surely will help you to avoid becoming the service station´s best friend!

Thanks for your comment ,in answer to your question about Englands Motorways putting it nicely they are Crap. The best motorways are in Germany ...to many bends and very narrow in England in Germany the most motorways are in very good condition, and still on a lot you can Drive as fast as you want. in England the road surface is loose and there are Roadworks on nearly every junction ,every time we go home I pray that my alloys dont get wrecked because of the chippings on the roads ...so if you have a fast car and you want to drive full out then come to Germany its a fast car drivers Paradies......almost ...some motorways you are only allowed to drive 120 Kmh......and also about the T6 .....you haven't put my mind at ease I think its got to go.......

Yes it's maybe more clever to get another s80 and not to spend -or even better- waste money on overpriced repairs.if you're in search of a reliable and rock-solid car you should put the holden monaro into consideration.tested one at the oxford dealership and one thing I can tell you is that I got carried away.it's quicker from0-62 than you could hit the ceiling because of another repair-bill. If I got you correctly you want plenty of power for the lowest possible price. My verdict: holden offers good value for the price. I just have to warn you again: the prices for s80 parts could make your pursue suffer! Get rid of. As we say in German: other mothers have pretty daughters, too. I know those 1:1 translation change sentences in meaning but this one you must get, don't you? Ah I'm sorry for my terrible English, it's really bloody. But I'm a human being and therefore not unmistaken. Lol self irony at it's best. Well when I was travelling on m40 I got the impression that your roads are well maintained.apparently not?
