Defects in Insignia (list of Opel Insignia Club Spain)l

Hello everyone, I'm the manager of the Opel Insignia Club in Spain (www.opelinsigniaclub.com). I'll try to post in 3 languages (English, German and Spanish).

ENGLISH

In a year of life of our web we could collect the most common mistakes of our cars. I think it's a good idea to share them with you to see if you know any solution to them.

- Brake discs scratched: Opel is sending new compounds in the pads. Change discs and pads under warranty.
- Whistling in the AC ducts, we have no solution
- Noise behind the instrumentation RPM&KM/H (CRRR crrrr crrrr): we have no solution
- No automatic door-close after start: we have no solution
- Aerodynamic noise in the A-pillar, we have no solution
- The second gear comes with difficulty: we have no solution

GERMAN

In einem Jahr der Lebensqualität unserer Web-sammelten wir die häufigsten Fehler unserer Autos. Ich glaube, es ist eine gute Idee, sie mit Ihnen zu teilen, um zu sehen, wenn Sie eine Lösung kennen zu ihnen.

ESPAÑOL

En un año de vida de nuestra web podemos recoger los errores más comunes de nuestros coches. Creo que es una buena idea compartirla con ustedes para ver si tienen cualquier solución a ellos.

- Discos de freno rayados: Opel envía de nuevos compuestos en las pastillas. Cambiar discos y las pastillas en garantía.
- Silbido en los conductos de aire acondicionado, no tenemos ninguna solución
- El ruido detrás de la instrumentación de RPM y Km / h (crrrr crrrr CRRR): no tenemos ninguna solución
- El cierre automatico tras iniciar la marcha no funciona: no tenemos ninguna solución
- El ruido aerodinámico en el pilar A, no tenemos ninguna solución
- La segunda marcha entra con dificultad: no tenemos ninguna solución

I imagine that all these problems are shared with you. If you know of any solution to any of them would be very grateful.

Please have a little patience. It´s been 6 hours that you had written your first post. Give the members in this forum more time to read and answer if applicable.

My individual experience:

scratched brake discs: I have this problem on the rear axle too, but my dealer doesn´t recognized it yet.

noise behind instruments/ automatic door close/aerodynamic noise: I have no solution and in have never read about such issues.

problems with second speed in manual transmission: I can verify heavy switch, if transmission is cold. As well no solution.

Problem known here too, german dealers changed brake pads and discs depending on effect strength. No clue how the spanish warranty handles this.

Sure the noise is from behind the instrument cluster or is it the unit itself? Only while pointer sweep (when turning ignition on) or while driving?

Speedlock used to be included in the first Insignias, but fell apart for some reason. The owners manual contains several options that are not available anymore or were implemented different.

Ok, thank you for your advise, sorry for my impatience.

The disc&pads problems is been solved now in our dealers. We are waiting for the nes compund in the pads.

Yes, our dealer change brakes for free. We are waiting for the new compound.

Sometimes, through the AC conducts you can hear a continuous whistle. It's very low but if you drive for hours the wishtle put into your head and become crazy. It can result very anoying. A lot of units in our Club have this problem. I hear that can be solved changing the AC compresor, a servomotor in the AC units... We don't know what think...

I don't know where is the noise exactly. I hear this for behind the speedo&rpm unit, behind the cockpit. The noise is like a insect rubbing his legs. It's random and while driving.

My Insignia is one of the first in Spain and i haven't this option. This is not very important for me but is unjust that tha manual says very lies.

This is a noise in the A Pilar between the front doors an back doors. I like wind come into car when you drive at least 120 Km/h. I already adjust the doors and the problem still here. My gums look normal, the next step is change the gums and wait what happens.

With the manual transmision in ramdon vehicles the second gear comes with a obstacle in his path. It only appears when the car is cold. I think the oil is down the level or the quality of the oil is trash. In my Club very people has this problem and we cant solved it.

I would say the manual takes some getting used to. In contrary to the manuals of older cars, like vectra/omega the optional equipment is not marked and there are many unexisting features. For example compass in the info display.

To the manual transmission: Is a superior transmission oil a possibility to show signs of improvement? It would be nice to know...

Ich hab das Problem auch. Ist ein pfeifen in der Klimaanlage... Sobald ich Klima auf 21° einstelle fängts an zu pfeifen..

My dealer made a software update for the air condition. As he told me the update changes the speed of the fan in the AC which makes some noise.
He even told me that in some cars the filling volume of the freezing liquid in the AC is to low which might cause the trouble.

For the other point we have to wait but i think there will be no solution from Opel.
About the brake discs even my dealer dont want to do anything. He told me that this effect doesnt influence the lifetime of the brakes. rofl

I'll ask in my dealer for the AC update. This is the soluction?? works for you??

Relative to brake disks, there are a order from Opel to change every discs in warranty. In Spain many people had changed his disks. Some people of the Opel Insignia Club can't change the disks in the deales because they don't want, like you. Then, they called to Opel Client Atention and a few days ago they received a call from the dealer for change the disks. I hope i help you.
