Hi Eric,

You don't have to prove this to me, because I don't want to buy your car 🙂 But it will be necessary to be prooven, if you wish to sell this car. What is maybe interesting to you, this car can be used in the Fia Historical Racing Championchips, if originally homologated (which you say). With this car, you could have good chances in taking part in some of this races, because the Organisations are usually interested also in some more rare touring cars, than 50 Mercedes 300SL 😉

MFG Kester

Hi Kester,

Normally, I think used this car in Historical rally and probably the 3 next years in belgium Hillclimbing championship except if i've found a customer to buy it....

Wenn der orginal is .... is er wertvoll !

Thanks for all but Ive already found this documents, it seems that my Corsa (a French version) is a little bit different. The group A was ordered and prepared by Irmscher and I supposed they used the basis car, Corsa Sprint to tune for rally races.

Für welchen Motor den überhaupt? den 1.3er?

My engine is a 1297 cc , it is a Gr A version with an injection (not the carburators) coming from Irmscher.

I've just found this number on the top of the engine (front just at the 4th cylinder level) : 6688 , I don't know if you can do something with this...

Basis: Corsa Swing
Mittelkonsole
Stahlgürtelreifen 165/65-14
Verbundglas-Frontscheibe
Leichtmetallfelgen 4 1/2 J x14
SR-Fahrwerksausstattung
Cockpit mit Drehzahlmesser, Quarzuhr, Tageskilometerzähler
Besondere Ausstattung:
3-teiliger Heckspoiler
"Sprint-R" Dekor
Leder-Sportlenkrad
1.3i-Einspritz-Triebwerk mit 61kW (83PS)
5-Gang Getriebe
Beschleunigung 0-100km/h: 11.4
Höchstgeschwindigkeit: 178 km/h

Sonst noch ne Frage?     Och menno is heut echt nich mein Tag!

Hi
I'm new here, just read this thread about your Corsa Sprint.
I'm Steve, I'm the owner of www.opel-corsa-a.com
You're right by saying that the Sprint was sold in France and that a Cup was planned.
But it was only planned, never done in France, only in Germany.
http://www.opel-corsa-a.com/index.php?seite=Rennsport/JuniorCup.htm

(sorry, the site is only in german at the moment, I'm working on an english version 🙁 )

But there were a few Sprints sold to France that were raced by private teams.
I even have some tests from french magazines, can scan them for you.

I would say that the car that you found is indeed very rare and it's WORTH to rebuild it.
Congratulations!!!

Concerning the dicussions about the wide body Sprints: there was a prototyp for Gruppe-A Sprint Prototyp that still exists and is in the Opel Oldtimer Sammlung.
And that's the next fact: There is an Opel car collection with about 300 cars of which a part can be seen at a factory tour. There's even an original Gruppe-A race car from the Junior Cup.

Wide body Sprints were never used in the Junior Cup. There were only about 50 built, not counting the replicas.
The guy who has 3 for sale is NOT the owner of that white one. That one was used in hillclimbing and is equipped with a cage, but was from factory (Irmscher) delivered as a standard one and later converted for racing.

I could write much much more 😁 but in case you need any further informations, just let me know

Cheers
Steve

Very happy to read your answer about my Corsa Sprint, very happy that you confirm my story about this car !
About, french magazines, I just have a copy coming from "Echappement revue" and talking about the Corsa Sprint Gr A.
I've too the Homologation's Sheets.

Eric

Hi Eric

Yes, in Echappement from 6/85 is a test of the Sprint and also in an issue of the Sport Auto.

Yes, pictures would be VERY interesting, you can contact at admin@opel-corsa-a.com
I will scan you the articles from the magazines.

Cheers
Steve

Moin,

Gruss
Steve
