We are happy to announce that as of today we have an English speaking forum on MOTOR-TALK. We noticed that there is a big demand for English speakers to exchange tipps, asks questions and spend time with like-minded people. As Europe’s biggest car community we would like to welcome all internationals on our website, in our blogs, in our forums and invite them to exchange their knowledge and questions with our community.

You can discuss all car brands and car related topics. Quite obviously we kindly ask you to keep your discussions in English, however everyone is more than welcome to check out our newest forum and participate in it.

Es ist endlich soweit: Ab heute gibt es MOTOR-TALK auch auf Englisch. Wir haben festgestellt, dass viele nicht deutschsprechende Autofahrer und -fans das Wissen nutzen möchten, welches MOTOR-TALK bündelt. Als Europas größtes markenübergreifendes Autoforum heißen wir alle internationalen Besucher zum Austausch mit Gleichgesinnten auf MOTOR-TALK, in den Blogs und im Forum herzlich willkommen.

Marken- und themenübergreifend kann im englischsprachigen Forum alles rund um das Thema Auto und Motorrad diskutiert werden - solange es auf Englisch ist. Aber das versteht sich ja von selbst. Schaut gleich einmal rein in unser neues englischsprachiges Forum.

I know these phrases are funny for their "false friends", but please, can you people let it go?

There is no need to spam like that.

The vast majority on MT will continue in german anyway.

And i personally don't see the point.

Wörtlich übersetzt hast du recht...NUR...

Da die englische Sprache bzw. deren Vokabeln um einiges weniger wie unsere deutschen sind, haben dort viele gleiche wörter andere bedeutungen...

In diesem Fall soll es heißen: Eine große Nachfrage von englisch sprechenden

Und für die Spaßvögel:

Good nite, hot mi gfreit (bayrisch) ((hot mi gfreit = hat mich gefreut))

and...

Even in the german language, you got words with a variety of meanings, like

"Leiter"

1.) Conductor of electricity

2.) Person in charge

3.) Ladder to climb up trees and so on

Und die Anzahl an Worten oder Diversität der englischen Sprache kommt oft nur so vor, weil man sich in der "Kommunikationssprache Englisch" eben rudimentärer ausdrückt, weil man es nicht besser kann. Was nicht bedeutet, dass die englische Sprache keine Vielfalt an Worten hat, im Gegenteil. Lest mal Bücher, wo nicht nur "fucking", "bloody", "awesome" oder "nice to meet you" drinsteht.

But anyway, this is not the area for discussions like that.

A serious question:

Are these threads linkes in the specific sub-forums?

e.g.

if an english speaking guy has a question about his old rusty Ford Fiesta and he posts it in the "MOTOR-TALK in English Forum". How are the guys there supposed to help him? Beacause the fiesta-"freaks" are in the specific subforum and probably never look there. So it would be great, if there is a link or a shortcut to the specific forum!

I second that there are forums like Mighty Car Mods, and for Americans i can highly recommend the forum of the website

regarding automotive questions and question about repairing stuff.

Because i am afraid you will hardly find german fiesta drivers, as an example, with english skills to help you about rust topics. And as you can see from the comments, people would rather make fun of speaking english like in kindergarden.
