Need Advice on Choosing the Right Car for Family Road Trips
Hey everyone!
We're on the hunt for the perfect car – something spacious, comfy, and reliable for both highway adventures and the daily grind. The problem? There are just SO many options out there, it's mind-boggling!
Hoping you car gurus can help with a few things:
Family Wagon Winners: What are some top picks for family-friendly cars with tons of space and long-trip comfort?
Safety & Savings: Any must-have features or specific models that hit the sweet spot for safety and fuel efficiency?
Reliability Report: How do you guys figure out how reliable a car is before you buy it?
Dealership Do's and Don'ts: Any tips on negotiating a good deal at the dealership?
I also check this : https://www.motor-talk.de/forum/aktion/Attachmentsalesforcehtml?attachmentId=736548 But I have not found any solution. So, basically, any wisdom you can share from your car-buying experiences would be a lifesaver! Thanks a ton in advance for your help!
Looking forward to hitting the road in style (and comfort!) with the whole crew.

No style:
Van (Ford Galaxy, VW Sharan)
Style:
Mercedes GL, GLE.
Got a GL 500 Biturbo for you if interested. 12-18 L / 100 Km. Is this spot still sweet?
What's your budget? Will you buy in Germany? How many people will travel, any needs for babies / minors (baby/child seat)?
Family wagon: depends on your preferences, some tend more to station wagons like f.e Skoda Superb, VW Passat, MB E-Klasse. Other prefer roomy vans as mentioned or even buses.
Safety: the newer the better. Some assistant devices are/were optional.
Fuel efficency: hm, let's discuss this later on specific models.
Reliability: same here. There were some buggy engines, gear boxes aso. Watch for complete maintenance history. There are services to check used cars (Gebrauchtwagencheck) for some 100€.
