Kein MP3 für alte Modelljahre..
Hallo,
wie schon in einem anderen Beitrag bestätigt, wird das Nachrüsten der MP3-Wechsler etc. nicht möglich sein.

Was sich Volvo in Sachen Entertainment immer so zurechtbastelt ist einfach abartig. Das ist negativ-Marketing vom feinsten.

Unser neuer C30 hat ja eine Aux-In Buchse.
Gibt es dazu ein Anschlußkabel für den iPod? So richtig schlau bin ich nach dem Lesen dieses Threads nicht...
Mein 🙂 weis von nix, will sich aber schlau machen.
in den Volvo-Zubehörlisten ist nichts zu finden und auch bei Apple-Anbietern habe ich kein normales Aux-Kabel gefunden...
Hat jemand hierzu Infos?

Probiers mit einem ganz normalen 3,5mm Klinke-Klinke Stereokabel....das ist alles.
Edit: sollte so ca. 5€ im Hifi-Handel kosten. Volvo-typisch wird das bestimmt als spezielles "Aux-In-Kabel für externe mp3-Player" für 45,-€ beim Freundlichen zu haben sein...

Gibts doch in jedem Elektroladen, bzw. Media Markt usw. Am einen Ende Rot und Weiß Chinch und auf der anderen Seite Klinke, wie bei den Kopfhörern.

ich war gedanklich beim iPod Flachstecker, aber da man ja keine Steuerung hat, kann man den Kopfhöreranschluß nehmen... Danke! 🙂

Folgendes habe ich an Volvo D geschrieben....
Hello ! I guess you can remember me: the client that made such a fuss about Volvo being NOT able to upgrade the radio/CD players in the V50/S40 to make them compatible (well, they ARE compatible but your software does not enable it...) with MP3 CD discs.
You guys really never seem to learn: now you have introduced an USB connection for an MP3 player.... and: it is AGAIN not "compatible" with "old" models.... how stupid are you and your friends in Sweden ???? Are you really so stuborn, ignorant and NOT listening to your clients to come up with something better ??
I know that you have got emails and letters from other "old" S40/V50 owners and I also know what you wrote them back as an answer but I can not understand that you as being the importer of one of the largest countries in the EU do accept this from your Swedish "friends": this shows again that you walk on the leash of "Sweden" and do not understand what kind of frustration you are causing.
I repeat myself from last years, still unsolved, communications we had: How in the world can it be that a a EUR 39,-- DVD plaver from Aldi is software upgradable (for FREE !!) and Volvo does not allow her customers to install new radios in their cars ??? How mad can a company be ? Are you really willing to go the Chrysler way: ignorning the voice (money !!) of your customers and be suprised in a few years time that your "clients" let you down as you did them in the past ????
I can NOT believe this ignorance, althought the texts I reiceved from "Sweden" AND FOR WHICH YOU HAVE EXCUSED YOURSELF BECAUSE EVEN YOU THOUGHT THAT THAT WAS A VERY BAD WAY OF CUMMUNICATING WITH CLIENTS show that you are not interested at all in what your customers wants.
May I please please please please BEG you once again to RETHINK this maddness of NOT allowing your "old" customers of S40/V50 models to replace their radios or to deny them having USB connections ??
I know that Volvo Sweden is not willing to test the "2007" software on "old" models, but in the same sentence they made me clear that in general the "2007" software would enable the "old" models to play MP3 discs and I guess also to accept the new USB interface. WHY WHY WHY WHY are you so stuborn, why do you as VERY import importer do NOT do anything at all to have "Sweden" rethink their stupid strategy.
I strikes me again and again that you guys seem not to want to earn money: again I will repeat myself: If you would charge me a reasonable amount of money for an upgrade that would enable me to playback MP3 CD discs and install the USB connection I and many others would immediatly buy it: turnover, money, cashflow, EBITA. But no: the answer so far is/was: we do not take the trouble to test it, if you want a new radio you must buy a new car......
I encourage you to react on this message BUT PLEASE not in the style as before ("what can we as humble small importer do againt the high and mighty Volvo Sweden"😉, please take this message SERIOUSLY and rember: there many readers nowadays of web-blogs (you not apprarently) that share their experieces, also with may-be-future-buyers. The way Volvo behaves is MADNESS.

ps. I informed you that Volvo UK recoginzed the "MP3" problem and gave costumers an extra discount when they buy new C30's. I now learned that not only UK does this: also in Spain your collegues have finnaly understood that customer satisfaction is more worth than saving yourself some money.....
Respekt! Ich finde es gut, dass Du trotz allem dran bleibst!! Allerdings habe ich entweder etwas verpasst, oder Du hast Dich verschrieben. Die neuen kommen mit AUX-Anschluss (3,5 mm Klinkenstecker soweit ich weiß) und mp3-fähigem CD-Player, nicht mit USB-Interface. Das ist für Volvo noch zu neu 😉
Wie auch immer, ich bin zu 100% Deiner Meinung. Volvo wird diese Ignoranz schon noch anhand der Verkaufszahlen zu spüren bekommen - das ist nur eine Frage der Zeit.

Ich hab mir das jetzt auch lang genug angschaut, diese Untätigkeit seitens Volvo k*** mich an. Es gibt noch genug andere Automarken, und mein nächstes Auto wird garantiert von einer dieser sein.
Hi, es gibt bald für die >2007 Modellen ein USB Anschluss die anscheined später auch "Ab Werk" bestellt werden kann. Hier im Forum sind sogar die "Einbau-anleitungen" für dieser USB Anschluss aufgetaucht, werde mal suchen ob ich den Link wieder finde !

Jetzt bin ich in der Tat verwirrt. Ich dachte es handele sich dabei nach wie vor um den "normalen" AUX-Anschluss. Umso unverständlicher, dass Volvo den gleichen Fehler anscheinend wieder macht (wie Du ja treffend beschrieben hast). Ich gehe mal nicht davon aus, dass dieses Interface in unsere "alten" V50/S40 (<2007) einzubauen sein wird.

Also... ich habe ein Anruf von Volvo Deutschland bekommen, sehr freundlich aber das gleiche wie im Vergangenheit: dieser USB Anschluss wird (naturlich) NICHT funktionieren und Volvo Deutschland kann auch nur hoffen das Volvo Schweden es endlich mal versteht. Ich habe Volvo Deutschland versucht deutlich zu machen das es vielleicht besser wäre dieser USB anschluss GAR nicht anzubeiten in Deutschland; dann hat der Herr Fröhlich von Volvo D erst gemeint das Schweden das entscheidet aber ich glaube er hat nachdem ich es 5 mal wiederholt habe letzendlich verstanden das Volvo D entscheidet was in Deutschland verkauft wird und das es nicht so Klug von Volvo D ist wieder ein (neues) Produkt an zu bieten das die gleiche Probleme (wie der fehlende MP3 upgrade Möglichtkeit die mehr oder weniger im Prospekt "versprochen" wird) mit sich bringt wofür Volvo D sich in die Vergangenheit entschuldigt hat das es nicht funktionieren wird. Tja..... ob die es jetzt wirklich verstanden haben das die zwar freundlich sind und Ihre Kunden erzählen das die die seriöus nehmen aber das das anscheinend nur text ist kann ich nur hofen....
Mal wieder was an Volvo Deutschland geschrieben....
Last year, by many letters, emails and telephone conversations, I tried to make you and Volvo Sweden clear that you caused a lot of grief under your „old“ S40/V50 customers by not offering them the possibility to upgrade their radio/cd players. Customers that made the S40/V50 to a success for you, customers that are willing to pay for a new radio but are denied this because Volvo (Sweden) is not willing to take the trouble to test the software that is installed in the MY2007 models on pre-MY2007 models. I got the strangest answers and received an email from the famous Mrs. Jöhnsson from Volvo Sweden that I will never forget my whole live; to keep it short: I was told in the most unfriendly way one can imagine that she/Volvo did not want to talk about this subject anymore.
Volvo Germany got notice of this and even excused themselves for this very bad attitude but nevertheless, the image damage can not be repaired. Although I at some point in time got the feeling that Volvo Germany finally understood me, it seems that you guys never learn: very recently Volvo has introduced an USB (MP3 player) connection as an aftermarket solution and again is this part NOT available to “old” customers, you will not believe it: because their radio’s can not be upgraded, a problem caused by Volvo themselves!!
I contacted your aftersales department and they first acted a bit like “this is an old problem, we informed you in the past that it will not work” but after me being very persistent, your Mr. Fröhlich finally understood that we were talking a new “problem”.
I know your Mr. Fröhlich as a calm and friendly person; the poor man had again to defend the strange decisions of Volvo Sweden. He is very professional and resisted giving me man-to-man answers, although it was quite easy to read between the lines.
What strikes me is that Mr Fröhlich keeps repeating wording from which one could get the hope that Volvo Sweden eventually will come with a solution while in fact Volvo Sweden wrote me in very clear words that they will never take the trouble in putting effort in this.
I asked Mr. Fröhlich why oh why Volvo Germany had decided to bring this USB connection on the German market, knowing that it will not work for most of their customers, thus deliberately causing anger again. First he reacted that Volvo Sweden forced this but he later took this back because I made him clear that Volvo Germany decides what is sold and which options are offered in Germany and at what prices.
As before the whole situation is very unsatisfying:
• Volvo Sweden gave up communicating with me, their client, in a wording that I will never forget and was so damaging to the image of Volvo that I do not want to identify myself with this brand in the future anymore (after 20 years of Volvo..), the excuses from Volvo Germany
• Volvo Germany tells me that they put pressure on Volvo Sweden to rethink this whole madness but this seems not to come forward at all, we are talking over this now more than a year and no movement at all noticeable
• Volvo Germany gives the impression that they listen to their customers but at the same time they show not to do so by again introducing a product that does not work with most of the S40/V50 sold in Germany
It does not matter if my wording to you is friendly or angry, whatever I try to make clear to you gets received, friendly reacted on, but or not understood or not distributed to next echelons in your organisation and if, not followed up by you in a way that shows that you really do what you tell your clients that you do: serving them.
You can of course think that I am a mad idiot that is making a lot of noise over a small problem, but this would show ignorance that on the longer term killed some car companies, however it is my strong believe that Volvo, with the exception of Mrs. Jöhnnson, is a very professional organization that really listens to their customers.
Therefore I will give it one more try to persuade, beg, you to rethink this madness, to put pressure on Volvo Sweden by bringing this to the notion of the highest level in your organisation and to stop bringing products, accessories, on the market that at not compatible with most of the cars you have sold to clients like me, that helped to make your model S40/V50 a success. Please keep me informed about the steps in this process.

Ich hätte nie und nimmer einen Volvo bestellt.
Die sind ja vollkommen unseriös und lächerlich bei Volvo. Was für ein Armutszeugnis.
Irgendwie kein Wunder das es denen und auch dem Mutterkonzern Ford nicht besonders geht. Das kommt wohl nicht von ungefähr. EInfach die Menschen täuschen und schlicht und einfach anlügen, ich bin immer noch sprachlos.
Da habe ich mit meinen kleinen "Problemen" noch Hoffnung gehabt, ist wohl sinnlos.
Was für ein beschämendes Verhalten ...
