Endlich mp3 für alte Modelljahre...?

DENSION hat eine neue Firmware für das Gateway 500 MOST Interface veröffentlicht. HIER kann man sie runterladen. In der beigefügten Textdatei steht folgendes:
- Volvo S40,V50 MY 2004-2008 with CDC fitted (for dual optic hardware CDC must be in the ring and second optical connector must be enabled (DIP switch #6 is set to off).
Bedeutet also, dass die alten nachrüstbar sein sollen, sofern ein CD-Wechsler (CDC) vorhanden ist 😰
Ich bin da ja eher skeptisch, aber wer weiß.

- Volvo XC90 Cars were produced between MY 2002-2006, and CDC fitted
- Volvo S40,V50 MY 2004-2006 with CDC fitted
DAS sieht doch so aus, als wäre es machbar und nicht nur irgend eine Wackelpartie. Sollen wir zusammenlegen und einer testet es 😕

naja das risiko ist doch relativ gering dank 14tage rückgaberecht
Ich dachte eher, dass der Einbau das (teure) Risiko darstellt. Ich glaube da muss man schon richtig werkeln, um das Ding ans Laufen zu bringen.

naja die (de-)montage ist mit den volvo anleitungen und einem bissel handwerklichen fähigkeiten nicht so schwer, find eich zumindest.
dafür bräuchte man eben als grundlage ein fahrzeug mit CDC, ansonsten wird wirklich etwas aufwendig, denn den CD würde man ja nicht so leicht wieder los werden.

Over the last 2 years I had many contacts with your Mrs. Hanna Jönnson over what became known in the Volvo community as the "Volvo MP3 problem": Volvo's refusal or inability to make the software available that enables MP3 playback from either CD's, iPod's, USB devices etc. on pre MY07/08 C30/S40/V50/XC90 models.
Mrs. Hanna Jönnson very much disliked discussing this topic with me, I guess because I can read very well, and also are very stubborn and had to point her many times to the very odd things or even complete nonsense she wrote me. At some point she wrote the now most famous words "we will file your future correspondences on this issue with interest but not react anymore on them"...... I am still flabbergasted, even though both Volvo Germany and the Netherlands excused themselves for this bad behaviour.
Although Mrs. Hanna Jönnson did not want to react anymore, I kept on informing here on new developments, like online petitions, publications, webdiscussions etc. and indeed she kept her word: she never reacted.
However, there is now something very new and highly interesting on this topic and a reaction from Volvo's side is badly needed:
The company Dension made an enormous effort to make their Gateway 500 product now also available to us, poor "old" MY06 or even older drivers: this device should make possible what Volvo is not able to do. It is priced around EUR 420,-- ex labour, so Dension will generate the turnover and have the profit, not Volvo.
Anyway, I am more than willing to spend this money on such a device, but I do not trust Volvo's software anymore to so easily accept this type of aftermarket solutions: Volvo once wrote me that the testing of the cars software is so difficult that they will not do this.
So the question is: will this Dension Gateway 500 indeed work as described and has Volvo endorsed it, so that I or others do not end up in a situation when whatsoever problems would arise that Volvo points to Dension and Dension blames Volvo ?
I can not ask this your Mrs. Jönnson, she will file with interest but will not reply, therefore I have to bother you with this, so sorry.

Es gibt da noch eine andere möglichkeit mit I-pod und Konsorten. finde die möglichkeit effizienter und Billiger.
geht darum das der i-Pod in ein Zusatzgerät geschoben wird welches in den Zigarettenanzünder geteckt wird. Im radio wird ein Sendeplatz festgelegt der automatisch gesucht und abgespeichert wird und schon hat man mp3 genus pur und die kramerei mit cd"s fällt auch weg. Bei bedarf mach ich mich mal schlau. Habe solch ein Teil gestern in der Hand gehabt war echt gut.

danke für die Hilfsbereitschaft, aber es geht darum, ein System zu erhalten, welches sich
a) in das bestehende System integriert,
b) somit über die vorhandenen Steuerelemente bedienbar ist und
c) NICHT über einen FM-Transmitter in das Radio eingespeist wird,
d) sondern das Audiosignal verlustfrei in das MOST-System einspeist
FM-Lösungen sind vom Frequenzgang her limitiert. Ich habe selber ein Kenwood KOS-A200, welches zwar akzeptabel klingt, aber nicht an den Klang einer CD rankommt.

Hi,
ich hatte das Gateway in meinem XC90 MY2007 eingebaut und das Ding war nicht ans Laufen zu bekommen. Nach endloser Support-Orgie mit Dension und Maxxcount stellte sich heraus, dass der XC ab MY2007 nicht unterstützt wird - was ich in der ERSTEN Supportanfrage schon ausdrücklich nachgefragt hatte.
DAS war im Oktober/November letzten Jahres. Schön, dass die "schon" 3 Monate (und mehrere Updates) später die Spezifikation angepasst haben.. 😠
ABER: Bei den anderen XC90 Fahrern mit Gateway 500 funktioniert das Teil richtig gut! Ich würde daher sagen, ihr könnt das Risiko einer Bestellung eingehen - Gewähr übernehme ich natürlich nicht. 😁

ich nehme meine Empfehlung, das Ding einzubauen, zurück. Bei Swedespeed gibt es einige S40/V50-Fahrer mit den gleichen Problemen, die ich auch hatte. 🙁

danke für Deinen Bericht. Klingt zwar noch nicht optimal, aber es lässt hoffen. Ich würde nach wie vor das Teil gerne mal in einem V50 in Aktion sehen.

Ja, ich kenne das Problem. Nicht mal einen mikrigen Aux-Input will man mir einbauen.
Aber zu meiner Frage: Hat in zwischenzeit jemand das Gateway 500 in seinen V50 einbauen können (nach Möglichkeit mit Erfolg) ?
