Kauf von gebrauchten BiTDi?
Hallo.

I'm more interested in inputs about which engine I should go for :-) Would a newer car with the 272 engine perhaps be better than a 2012 model with the 313 engine?
I would say if you buy a 272 PS 3.0 TDI you can save Money, at the Point of buying the Car and in the maintenance costs and Insurance. The Mono-Turbo in the 272 PS has a lower Consumption, if you drive in the Citys with stop & go you can save a lot of fuel, but on the german Autobahn or Fast Lane the differences are not so big.
I must admit that the 272 PS is really fast, i saw it often with my unchipped Audi A6 Competition in the Company with 326 PS and if i make a Kickdown, the 272 PS will not overtake me, but he is always close to my Car. Like i told you the old 313 PS Bi-Turbo was faster, i know a lot of People which had without Chip-Tuning nearly 350 PS.
So sometimes i regreted that i have buyed a Bi-Turbo (because of more costs and not so much benefits), but if you go in the Dynamic Mode and you have the V8 Sound i have a Smile on my Face, that no 272 PS Engine can give me. 😁

Is the engine and gearbox as reliable in that version, as in the 313 BiTDi? I really like the idea of the 8 speed ZF gearbox. I've only read good things about it and it feels fantastic to drive.
My A7 has the dual-clutch-transmission, and I love it. I almost ordered the 326 HP biturbo with air suspension, but changed the order right after a test drive. I am not aware of any technical issues.
My S5 hast got the standard 8-gear-transmission, and it is ........ ok. Yes, this car is faster, but double-clutch is more active and direct way of driving.
Oh okay. Very interesting to hear! I really want the air suspension as well. Is there any issues with that when the car is older?

I do really want the BiTDi. It sounds fantastic for a diesel as well! But if the car is from 2012 and has gone 120.000 km. for example, should I expect a lot of repairs? Or is it a very durable engine?

If you order a car for 100.000 the 2.500 EUR diff from 272 to biturbo is peanuts, at least for most of us here. Fuel consumption is equal, and also the running costs.
Where do you see the significant differences?

What about the 245 ps. diesel engine? Is that any good and would it be worth looking for a newer car with that engine, instead of an older one with the 313 BiTDi?
The cars with the 245 engine seems to be a bit cheaper, but I don't know if it's worth going for that engine and gearbox?
Just go to an Audi dealer, make some test drives, and decide afterwards.
I think copper coins should not make the difference on this car level.

That's a fair point, but that wont tell me much about the reliability of the engine and gearbox :-)
I tried the 313 version and it's fantastic! I'm just worried if I should expect a lot of repairs on a car that is 5-6 years old? I suppose it's expensive to fix the engine, gearbox or air suspension, if something breaks.
If you are able and willing to pay a little fortune for a car old as hills - why do you care for repairs? 😁

Because I don't want the car to break and I don't want to pay even more for expensive repairs. I have to use the car to and from work every day.
Just because the car costs a small fortune where I live, doesn't mean I want to spend another fortune repairing it! :-)

Audi A7 BiTDI isn‘t going to break that easily 🙂 mine turned 6 years old last month and the most expensive thing that happened till now is changing the brake discs and brake pads in one go.
