Idle Stuttering.. golf II 1.8 monojet (english)
hey guys.. sorry for intruding your forum!. please answer in english as i don't know a single german word 🙂
anyways.. i got some problems with my golf.. the idle is stuttering like mad.. the only thing i could think of is the lambda probe.. but that was changed 3 months ago 🙁
anyways.. i got some vids for you to see/and hear how she runs on idle
vid 1
vid 2
in addition to having the lambda probe changed, i've changed the following bits
blue/red/black temp sensor
distributorcap and rotor,
all spark cables
coil
sparkplugs
lambda probe
and its still stuttering and causing problems to me.. the car shakes like crazy!
and i've head that its possible to read out failcodes from the car. where is that done, and how, and what are the codes (where can i find them)
The car in question is a:
VW golf 1991 1.8GL (RP - monojet)
Regards from your pals in the north (norway)

thisI hope you understand my bad english.
compression should be fine..
and the camshaft is correct..
if it wasn't.. i would have problems longer up the registry when i accelerate! which i havn't..
well. i'm still having problems.. gotten some vakuum hoses today!
just a little question about that.. does the vakuumlines have to be the exact length? or can i shorten/lengthen them as i wish?

If they're not getting 10 meters instead of 10cm long, there's no problem 😉

They shouldn't be significant shorter than the original ones.
For the vacuum its equal. The leght is necessary in cause of the movement of some engine parts.
then i'll just do it easy.. unmount the existing lines.then measure and cut 🙂 then replace! hoping this will help a bit.. if not i'm afraind that i'm giving up!
if i only had the money, i'd deliver the car to our local dealer and have them fix it!.. but that is way too expenve at over €100 an hour pluss parts 🙁
If you spend more time on MT you're saving lots of money.
That's why I never go to VAG.... 😉
Hopefully you'll find the malfunction...
well.. i'm back! but the problems isn't fixed 🙁 *cry*
anyawys.. just checked the flange between the monojet and inletmanifold .. it was melted(?) .. could have been a bad part, as it was not original.. but i've ordered an original flange now! that will be at my house tomorrow (saturday)
if that does'nt help.. then god forgive me.. cuz i'm giving up and just drive around with a bitched RP engine! until my swap starts..
a few months from now, i'll begin to insert my 16vKR 🙂 just waiting for warmer weather 🙂
