2.0 TFSI 170 PS warum/wie eigentlich ?
Hallo,

170pk is just marketing. Its the cheapest one and may not have more pk's as the 6 cylinder.
It is exact the same engine with the same turbo as in the Audi A4 and VW Passat/Golf.
Just the software and the exhaust is a little different (quieter) than these of the other cars. After tuning you can get almost the same effect as with the other engines. Only the quieter exhaust will cost you apprx. 5pk's.
I have just mine tfsi tuned. Great improvement: 240pk and 350Nm.
Just the sound is not as sofisticated as a 6 cilinder....M
Thanks for your response, where did you get these information from?
In the Netherlands you can tune in one tuning (as I did) to 235 pk.
I'm afraid that also Abt has found a marketing tool!
JD Enginering is a specialist for VAG products in the Netherlands. According to them there is no difference between an A6 TFSI and the 'other' VAG's TFSI's. Same engine, same turbo but different exhaust. http://www.jdengineering.nl/
On their internet site they offer 235 pk for the A6 and 245 pk for the other VAG products. Because of the exhaust. In practise the difference is smaller (approx 5 pk). When you replace the exhaust you get exact the same specifications as the Passats, A4, Gofs etc with a tuned 2.0 tfsi engine.
The fact that a A6 produces just 170pk is only marketing.
I can everybody advise to tune the engine. It drives so much better.
I drove also with a 2.4. Only the sound of the 6 cylinder is better (not quieter) but less performance and certainly less torque and also more fuel consumption and a worse energy label. So I choose for a tuned TFSI and pump up the radio….
Oh, I see there is another tricky company who found the posibility to increase the hp up to nearly 235 hp 😉

A buddy from me made good experience with BSR (Saab 2,0T). Huge advantage is the patendet PPC system- so you order this little computer and connect it at the interface of the car- then everybody is able to download the datas from the PPC directly in the eprom of the control device. That`s really simple. Also you can delete the tuning software and use the standard engine software.
