According to Automotive News Europe (ANE), the French daily newspaper La Tribune last week speculated that Renault might buy Volvo Car Corporation.

La Tribune reportedly quoted an unnamed source saying such an acquisition would be Renault chairman Louis Schweitzer’s last coup before retiring from an executive role in 2005. Renault made an aborted attempt to take over Volvo in 1993, a move that Schweitzer strongly favoured.

“This article does not claim to be anything but speculative, so there’s no point in denying it,” a Renault spokesman told ANE. “But it’s interesting.”

Renault will, Ford scheinbar nicht?

In einem kleinen Artikel gestern oder heute in der FAZ wird der Eindruck erzeugt, Renault wolle Volvo partout kaufen (unter Ausnutzung der schlechten Zahlen bei Ford), Ford sei daran aber nicht interessiert.

Wenn man diese Gerüchteküche richtig bewertet, dann verhandeln beide Seiten, der Preis stimmt aber noch nicht. Schaun mer mal...
