Sammelthread: 2.0 TSI (220 PS)
Hallo zusammen,

Thanks 🙂 I am having lots of fun with it 🙂 although I can point you out some drawbacks I have experienced so far.
I don't know how is it in G-VII GTI but here when I want a dynamic start from 0km/h i often get front wheels spinning even on dry surface. Same is with launch control. The car theoretically has XDS but we have to remember that it is not the 4Motion... and lots of the torque stays as a black stain on the tarmac 😉
Once you drive the engine is very responsive and elastic. Overtaking is pure pleasure.
One major thing that really annoys me in the Passat is the rattling sound which I cannot locate. You can hear it on this movie I made.

It doesn't appear always but from time to time, either way I think that this does not fit to this kind of car 🙁
PS.
Do you also have such problems in Germany waiting for B8's? I can say I was kinda lucky placing the order in early December and getting the car just before Easter. 4 months waiting, but from what I see lots of people are waiting 5-6 months even more.
Since I am easily getting wheelspin on my 150hp TDI, I can imagine how carefull you have to be to not hoon all over the place all the time :-)
I would have opted for the AWD, but we still have to wait for the 280hp version.
Regarding your rattle: Check your passenger head rest. I had a similar noise in the cabin and couldn't locate it at first.
Turned out to be said head rest which was extended all the way. Fixed it by putting it back all the way.
Blätter mal ne Seite zurück ;-)

Jus to make sure, the 220HP TSI hast two exhaust pipes, each on one side?
Das stimmt 🙂 Two mufflers with single pipes heading downwards. I will make a movie of this and post it on the weekend.

thanks for the info, I will check this out 🙂
PS.
What about those orders? In Germany you also have to wait that long for new B8?
I ordered mine on April 29th and got a preliminary shipping date 10/2015 🙁. Dealer said there is a shortage with the Verona rims but that could also clear up any time. Still hoping to get it around July...
Hallo zusammen!
I have uploaded some new videos of noise measurements of TSI 220 in idle + a bonus for Caranthir a deep insight into the tailpipes 😉

PS.
I have just found the source of the rattling sound, it wasn't the armrest. It came from headliner and precise the place near the edge of sunroof between the glasses compartment and the passengers sun blind. When I depress it stronger the sound stops. We'll see what they can do with it at the dealership...
Thanks a lot! 🙂

Glad to be of service 🙂 I didn't make another video, but I have measured the noise at 140 km/h and it's 60,7 dB, which is very comfortable. Bear in mind that it is not a professional equipment but a phone app, but still should give a concept. For curious I was using the BSB mobile Solutions - "deciBel" app from GooglePlay
Hi,

Your B8 is tungsten silver, right ?
like the B8s in the Video i have posted ?
Hi,
Yes my B8 is Tungsten Silver. I can post some real life photos if you like.
Regarding the Tailpipes form what I know there are 2 muflers in 2.0 TSI with single pipes heading downwards.
In BiTDI there is one muffler on the left hand side with a double pipe facing downwards.
Furthermore I have seen on Polish e-bay these chrome Blends but cut open, like in the video you've posted. So there is a possibility to change them. The only major problem would be changing the muffler so that the pipes are straight.
Either way VW supprised me with such a lame solution... Maybe they need a differentiation between R-Line and Audi.
