Hi, I went this week to my 3rd recall of the Civic 2023, and second for steering issue. In first recall last year they replaced the entire steering gear bloc with new one....now they just "greased" it (not sure what that means) , and changed some minor parts, took around 3 hours, they worked with the car rissed up, did not took down the entire steering again.
Instead what I found out is that when they replaced the steering gear at first recall, they actually installed the same part.....and this is why now they did this recall...that should fix any future issue they say. They mentioned that they started to replace steering gear with brand new steering gear part for Type R Models....as the new part got labeled as new part only this year.
Anyway...it's crazy and I'm sure Honda was overloaded with this issue on the new cars during this recent years....and this is just one but there are also other types of recall....so yeah, what can I say, it is good that they are fixing it.
Other than that.....the car is superb.....2 years in May and I love it as in first day.
