Ok thanks, hopefully we are getting there!

Ok thanks to everyone. I have completed the install of heated seat mats. Got the correct harness half the price from Vauxhall rather than Opel. Heated seats working fine no need for tech2 just plug and play.

Paul.

Hi Paul,
nice to see it working.

Do you have any documentation/images or something to write some kind of tutorial? Would be nice because some users are planning to equip their cars with heater mats too.

Guckst du hier :-)

du mit deinem scheiß google 😉 😁

sorry 😉

Paul.🙂

Hello Paul,

thanks for the link.
Unfortunately it seems that I have to register, not that I´m not able to do that ;-) but maybe its more helpfully if you could post the complete tutorial here too?
I guess I would be a null-poster in that forum ;-).

At last, after a litte investigation, I found your how-to guide on page 2 in the technical category of the "How 2's".
But as I wrote above I have no access right to read it :-(

Thanks and best regards,
Michael

edit. Otherwise, after reading the whole index, I guess that I could find more detailled descriptions and problem solutions...
I will register :-)

Vectra-c.com is a great site for the Vectra C And Signum. Most upgrades and modifications have been carried out by myself and other members on the site.

Just in case motor talk members want to know how to do this modification here it is:-

Carried out on my old car (Vectra sri 03MY). I believe this modification cannot be done on later facelift cars as the wiring loom from the dashboard to the seats is not present. However on earlier pre-facelift cars it is.

Not sure if this has been posted before, i've had a brief look but couldn't find it so here we go:-

This is the how to for fitting heated seat mats to the front seats. Firstly the parts

X2 Heated front seat roller switches

X2 Heater mats front seat cushions

X2 Heater mats front seat backrests

X2 Upgraded wiring seat harness (check as mine did not have harness for heated seats yours may)

X6 Airbag lock nuts

x36 Upholstery clamps

If anyone needs the part numbers i can dig them out pm me.

Now the how to

Firstly check your car has the loom for heated seats. Mine is an 03 plate SRI anf the loom is there. You should be able to tell when you remove the blanking plate next to the stereo in the uppermost slot. The hole should have some metal electrical connections for the switches if so you should be ok.

Allow about 3 hours for the first seat and then about 2 hours for the second. As once you have done one you know how to go with second.

Firstly remove negative terminal from the battery. Now undo the 2 torx bolts at the end of the seat rails. Then the torx bolt mounting the seatbelt to the seat. By the time you have done this the airbags/ pre tensioner wil have discharged. Unplug wiring loom form the car located under the front passenger seat.

Now i placed my seat on the breakfast bar in the kitchen so my it was easy to work. I now recommended obtaining a copy of TIS to instruct you on how to remove the seat cloth, it gives step by step instructions that are very good. Too much for me to type here!

Basically the cloth has to stripped back, side airbag removed, new wiring harness fitted (if required) and then heater mats stuck to the foam.

Everything back together, hardest bit is clamping cloth back in with clips. Refit the seat to the car plug harness back to car loom, tighten torx bolts up using locking compound on the bolts. Fit the dash switches in the upper most holes either side of the radio. Re-connect the battery and test with engine running! Switches light up with headlights on. No need for tech2 with this one either.

Any one wanting to do the mod you are welcome to ring me and i will go through it with you or any problems give me a shout.
