I am thinking about getting a BMW i3. However, I am not sure I yet if it is more feasible to buy one or just keep renting one whenever I need it. To help me make my mind up, I would like to know how much car insurances cost in germany. Not necessarily only for the bmw i3, I am open for ideas. :)
There ist not 1 Price for a Car.
That depends on many many seperate personal + Car-Facts (where do you live, how lang do you have a Driving-Licence, what Car is it, how many Accidents in the past few Years, what Type of Insurance do you want/need, + much more . . . . ) you can check it out here :
Or go to an Insurance-Agency with english-speaking Agents, and ask for all the necessary Facts + Documents, that you/they need.
I pay 200 €/Year for my 1989 BMW 318i . . . but ist's also possible to pay 150 or 1.000 € for the same Car, depending on many different facts + Insurance-Companies ;-)
And if you are a young driver with a poor "insurance record", you will pay a lot. As a "middle Ager" with a decent car and depending on the type of insurance its somewhere between 300-2000€/Year. But "asking for a quotation" is advised.
Prices for a car insurance policy vary in German greatly. There areactually many thing you need to consider. The biggest key factors are i.e. your driving history, type of car insurance, who is driving the car, car model and your car's annual mileage. Especially your driving history has impact on the car insurance quote. The insurance premium can range between 300–350% of the regular premium (for new drivers) to 30–35% for drivers with 30+ years without accident. I like this one as its emtirley in english :)
This really depends on the car and the driving experience you have. I think you can ask your insurance about the exact costs of your car
