Die Produktion sollte 2007 eingestellt werden...aber lest selbst... :)

Die Information in Wikipedia ist Mumpitz. Jedenfalls so, wie sie da steht. Die Produktion des Town Car läuft im Augenblick immer noch in Wixom. Das angehängte Bild wurde Ende November im Montagewerk aufgenommen.

Eine Produktionsverschiebung nach Kanada wäre durch das intensive Re-Tooling wohl kaum praktikabel.

Eine der Pressestimmen enthielt folgenden Text:

With Ford's Wixom assembly plant - the only source for Lincoln cars over the past half-century - slated for closure in 2007, the assumption was that the Town Car would join its Panther platform brethren at the company's St. Thomas, Ontario plant. Ford, however, has informed the Canadian Auto Workers union that it should not expect the arrival of Lincoln's last "traditional" luxury car. Since a move to any other North American plant would require extensive retooling, it's extremely unlikely that the luxo-barge will continue production at all.

Expect the Town Car to be replaced with the MKS, which will be an AWD unibody sedan based on the same platform that underpins the Ford Five Hundred. Even if such a vehicle is successful at retaining the Town Car's elderly customer base, those in the livery business are likely wondering where to go now for a full-size body-on-frame luxury car. The Ford Crown Vic and Mercury Marquis are expected to continue production until 2010, after which the future of those big sedans is also in question.

Also ich als V8 fan muss sagen das die neueren V8ter nicht mehr das gefühl rüberbringen wie die älteren autos wie der charger.Gut neue auto sind sparsamer und sind leiser aber das typische V8 gebrabbel is nicht mehr so häufig.

SUV`s sind nicht so mein Ding aber den escalada würde ich auch nehmen

lol, is ja wohl klar. Mit Kat und 3 Schalldämpfer klingt auch ein

Charger scheisse. Auch bei den Amis ist die Entwicklung nicht

in den 60er stehen geblieben :)

Ein Towncar kauft man auch nicht wg. dem V8, sonder wg.

dem Auto selber.

Also um auf den Cadillac Escalade zurück zu kommen ich bin schon damit gefahren und auch mit dem Vorgänger also der neue geht net schlecht (fahre ja gen mal etwas schneller) Was soll ich da nich sagen achja das mit dem Gebel ist genau so habe mich auch gewundert warum das so aussieht. DAs Navi ist einfach zu bedienen un der Kofferraum riesig ich bin aller ding nur den Normalen nicht den ESV gefahren
