welche Erfahrungen habt Ihr mit Android-Handys am Command Online?
Funktioniert der Onlinezugang?
Die Info auf der entspr. MB-Seite sagt ja nicht besonders viel dazu aus.

Ich habe die Online-Funktionalität mal ausprobiert mit:
Samsung Galaxy S i9000
Android Version 2.3.3
Gerät ist auf Werkseinstellungen
Ich mußte nur 2 Dinge tun:
- Gerät per Bluetooth mit COMAND verbinden
- Am COMAND unter Menü "Online" (Kugel oben rechts neben SYSTEM) unter Einstellungen den Anbieter auswählen (in meinem Fall O2)
Eintippen einer URL, z.B. www.heute.de
COMAND konfiguriert und erstellt die Datenverbindung und nach einer Wartezeit wird www.heute.de angezeigt.

Bluedun is fully compatible with Ice cream sandwitch. If someone reports problems it may depend on the phone hardware. The UDP compatibility option can help in case of frequent disconnections

again thank you for your immediate responses. I've learned now, that BlueDUN runs fine with Android Ice Cream Sandwich and therefore I can upgrade my current cell phone to the latest Android models and still have all "comand online" features...

I've bad news.
Today I got an update of the comand online to map version 2012 (V6.0). This turns my comand online back to a command offline.
The message is "Phone doesn't support data connections"
I have a Google Nexus S with ICS 4.0.4
Pleas help! 🙁

I did the pairing, this works now.
Anyway the command is still not able to connect to the internet. It is running Connect to Provider....this ends in about 1kbyte up and 1kbyte downstream then blue dun ends the service.
I tried it under several net conditions.
I know the problem, another Mercedes driver from Spain have the same issue with new comand update and ICS. The UDP compatibility option does not solve the issue, isn't it? Can you try with a Girgerbread phone? I've to understand if it depends on Comand OnLine or the ICS android version.

The thing is, that after the update the online section needs to be updated over the air. This takes several minutes and bytes....
The connection was very lame today. I will check it under better net conditions and give a report here.
Is the UDP compatibility slowing down the connection in a recognizable way?
While the normal flow sets a limited timeout in the network response, with the UDP Compatibility option the app wait until server replys to each single request ant this can make the connection slower.
New update 1.15 is now available (only trial at the moment); it introduces the new parameter "UDP Packet Delay", you can set it in a range from 0 milliseconds to 500 ms. More high is the value more slow will be the connection, so you have to find the best value for you phone to enable the connection. Samsung Galaxy Nesus still can have problems with this version, I think this is due to a bug in the UDP packet receive buffer, maybe the 4.0.4 solves this issue. Samsung Galaxy S2 with ICS works fine.
Da mein iPhone nur das ganze Telefonieren und Musikzeugs beherrscht, aber kein Internet - iPhone beherrscht ja nur PAN und nicht DUN - wollte ich das Internet zumindest ausprobieret haben und habe mir das Blackberry meiner Tochter gekrallt zum Versuchen. Ich kann euch nur sagen, ihr habt nichts versäumt. Es geht 1. nur im Stillstand, das Wetter z.B. ist auf dem iPhone wesentlich besser, das Ganze ist relativ umständlich zu bedienen und es ist langsam. Ich habe es gerne wieder sein lassen. Meine Absicht mir dafür ein günstiges passendes handy zu beschaffen habe ich fallengelassen.

Das ist nicht korrekt. "Surfen" ist gesperrt, aber etliche Onlinefunktionen gehen während der Fahrt, auch das Wetter.
Surfen im Internet macht übers Comand wenig Sinn, wenn man dafür sowieso schon ein Smartphone hat.
Aber die Möglichkeit, am PC (oder Smartphone) ausgesuchte Ziele oder Routen von Google Maps aus ins Comand zu übertragen, halte ich für eine sinnvolle Funktion. Das nutze ich auch häufiger. Alles Andere ist Spielerei und auf jedem Smartphone besser zu bewerkstelligen. Ich denke, dass dies den meisten Leuten klar ist.
Aber darum geht es in diesem Thread eigentlich auch gar nicht.

I used it several times and it worked well. The connection speed is still not really fast, but ok for usage.
Hallo zusammen,
bin heute eine lange Strecke mit ner ganz neuen C-Klasse und Comand Online (ohne Komforttel.) als Beifahrer mitgefahren. Erste Meldung: BlueDUN funkt prima, surfen ging aber 0, weil "während der Fahrt"... toll, für den Beifahrer 😉 OK, aber jetzt noch was anderes, weil ich diesbezgl. die gleiche Konfig für meinen Stern gewählt habe... Habe mein HTC Desire (Android 2.2) verbunden und konnte nicht auf das Telefonbuch zugreifen!? Der Händler hat mir beim Bestellen verklickert, dass das geht (automatischer Import etc. pp.). Das Iphone 4S meiner Frau hat bei meinem Test heute funktioniert (dafür konnte man damit nicht surfen...)
Also, Frage: wie geht das mit dem Adressbuch und meinem HTC Desire? (Kommt mir jetzt bloß nicht mit V-Cards an das Command via Bluetooth senden, das wäre ja vorsintflutlich).
