Z30DT komisches Verhalten bei unter 0 Grad

Opel Signum Z-C/S
Themenstarteram 20. Januar 2013 um 15:40

Hallo Gemeinde,

Volker

While you're driving fast, there's so much fresh air pressing through the cooling unit and around the engine that that other fans oder other switches for the fans wouldn't change anything concerning the temperature.

I didn't test it yet, but I think there's a way to improve the air flow in removing the noise protection plate under the car that "insulates" the enginge.

Or maybe we should change the ecu country code.

Mine is hungary yours probably germany.

Maybe if we change it to spain or cyprus or a country with high summer temps this will make the fans to strat at lower temps and in this way an much better cooling .

I dont know if it'a possible just make a suposition

Try and report ;)

Hi guys,

I found on e-bay this two articles for sale

http://www.ebay.de/.../111022138606?...

and

http://www.ebay.de/.../321205347371?...

As I can see on the pictures there are two diferent fans . in the first auction it's one big and another smaller

and in the second auction the fans are both big.

maybe this is the problem with overheating of our cars.

As far as I know I have fitted on my car the big and small fans not two big fans.

I supose that two big fans are better then one big and one small

do you know something about that???

I'm back with my old problem

Idle speed at negative temp. :(

I've manage and made an movie this night

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0kiyoJTXC0&feature=youtu.be

http://youtu.be/v0kiyoJTXC0

When I fire up the engine the idle is normal at 750rpm but after a few seconds it's rises at 950rpm , the engine is warm

I think is not normal because my car has automatic gearbox and if it's stay accelerated it's not good for the af40 :(

it's like you keep the foot on the brake pedal and also on the acceleration pedal in the same time , I feel the car like it's stroggles

It should be normal, I experienced exactly the same behaviour with my z30dt in combination with af40.

Greetz,

Circuit

HI Circuit ,

I'm 110% sure that two winters ago didn't do so :(

The problem apears last winter.

So I'm pretty sure is not normal because not doing this everyday even if the temps are -0*C outside.

Circuit look I found also an movie on you tube with signum 3.0 cdti automatic first start in the morning -0*C and the Idle speed is normal :( so I supose it's not OK what is going on with mine

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEJc5ya90_A

another one at -19*C and idle stay normal and don't rise after that

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ik2KebpQdsY

as far as I Know it's normal when you start the engine the idle speed to be 980rpm or some like that and after few sec to setle at 780rpm to help the engine to warm up a litle but not vice versa :(

Hmmm. I actually didn't wonder about this behaviour in the past because mine did it as long as I had this car. Here a video I made of mine in winter times: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEbja1PFhrE

Regarding your videos: both are showing y30dt engines. I wouldn't assume that the engine management is the same. Maybe the increased idle rpm is connected to af40?

Hey Z30DT pilots, what's your experience...

Thanks,

circuit

I will go next week to change the oil at af40 and I'll ask to verify everything once again

HI all

tomorrow is the big day :) I'm gonna change the oil at af40 and I will ask them to test the car once again for any faults and to measure all details.

Any ideea what to ask them to do?

what to check?

I've ask at the dealer and they can't change the Country code :( and also they don't know if this will solve the problem with overheating when we drive it sportly :(

bu they sugest that we can put an extra fan in front of the radiators , but I don't know if this is possible

I think that the two fans that are fitted from factory don't do the job as it's supose to do

They have told me that all Z30DT do the same when you kick the pedal to the floor

HI again,

today was a sunny day and I was at home all day.

So because I didn't have much to do , I start and check the car myself.

I take every visible hose and check it, and I was surprised to find that one of the hoses are completely stuffy.

I take some pictures :)

this litle peace of plastic was stuck in the hose . I try to blow air to the hose but nothing.

After that I used a stick and pulled it out this piece of plastic

Now I'm asking you all guys, maybe this was the problem with overheating the engine ????

It is possible?

It's supose to be there in the hose the piece of plastic???? Why? How it got there?

can please someone help me and tell me what is this piece of plastic?
