Blendfreier Fernlichtassistent - Fehler ?

BMW 3er F31
Themenstarteram 26.

Vielen Dank schon einmal.

Moin zusammen,

Maybe we should look for the Partnumbers of these Headlights?

And indeed they are different between EU and USA:

63 11 7 338 702

63 11 7 338 707

63 11 7 338 708

I dont know if thats an argument. The EU-Parts are cheaper and weight 40g less? But this could just be for transport, duty and packaging.

Thank you renozeross! I know this may be too big of a favor to ask: For F30/31 owners with Blendfreier Fernlichtassistent, is it possible to post a video of your Blendfreier Fernlichtassistent in operation?

I am thinking about ordering a set of used headlights from autowin.eu but the descrption says they do not include modules or bulbs. I don't care about the bulbs but if the modules contain the necessary hardware for anti-glare operation, then there's no point for me to order them.

I dont know if its worth the effort. My opinion is that your last Video shows a good working high beam assistant.

I'm sure you've seen these other Videos in YT:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZbLSIdly2c

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZzt1hNFtog

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dvPZ3H1Vm4

they show exactly what i see with active assistant. Maybe its practically impossible to get 100% glare free high beams. If you got hilly roads or a lot of curves. Even Human would react slow if there is a car oncoming behind a hill or barrier, if you dont see its headlights.

For the Partnumbers: they are really nearby, so i dont think that its really a complete other Part. For example in the EU there is a Xenon without adaptive lights and its Partnumber is vastly different 63 11 7 314 531 / 63 11 7 314 532

Just to be sure you dont spend money for no effect.

Did a test drive with the wife last night to capture the perspective from the other driver. She did say even though she could tell the difference when the Fernlichtassistent was off and on, she felt the glare from the Fernlichtassistent was acceptable. Next time, i will have her drive my F31 and i will see it from the perspective of the other driver.

Great Video, thought the difference for the Car in front would be less, nearly not noticable. But this glare is clearly visible.

Perhaps its not the right street for highbeams. In the EU its not allowed and uncommon to use highbeams on highways or in cities. We usually only use it on single track country roads.

I lowered the threshold for enabling Fernlichtassistent from 70 kph to 40 kph so that I could test in on a nearby dark local street. I normally don't use it on local streets and highways, especially now that I have become aware that the US version is not quite Blendfreier, as you can see in the video. Supposedly, what is lacking in the xenon adaptive headlights for the US is the device that creates a dynamic mask to prevent glaring other drivers. That's why I'm quite keen on trying the used ones from Autowin.

So my question now is: Does the Blendfreier Fernlichtassistant in your F31 work like the last video i posted, where it's obviously glaring other drivers?

I think the F31 uses the system developed by Hella.

http://www.hella.com/hella-com/620.html?rdeLocale=de

Please watch the video on the right called Vertikale Hell-Dunkel-Grenze. In the video, there is a device called VarioX-Projektionmodul that dynamically projects different shapes between the xenon bulb and the lens to create a light-free tunnel. I think the reason the xenon adaptive headlights in the US BMW do not properly work is due to the lack of a similar device like the VarioX-Projektionmodul. That's why i am curious if such a device exists in Europe's xenon adaptive headlights.

Please let me know if any of you have used E-Sys on your F31. If you have, it would be great if you could PM me. Danke schön!
